Srt8 to E55 Crossover

Srt8 to E55 Crossover
I'm so undecided. I am the current record holder for 6.1 N/A SRT8 . She runs 11.11@126. I'm thinking about selling my car and buying an e55. My question is how much will it cost to get to where I'm at right now. Just wanted a rough idea to make sure I have enough before I do the cross over. I dont want to go from diving a 4500lb 11.1 N/A beast to driving a 13sec supercharged car unless I can get it running low 11's the first few month of getting. So let me know what its going to cost?

E55 w/ goods, Z32 Project underway
High 11s are easy to hit, some even hitting that stock. Add on a HE/pump, 180mm pulley, tune, throttle body, and headers and you will have a very quick car-high 10s.

well Im not too sure of costs but there are guys that have hit 11.7 stock with drag radials.
I would say headers, pulley, upgraded HE and cooling and a good tune and DR's would get you in the ball park if not faster.

You will be running a low 12 second car stock if you purchase the e55. Some guys are running high 11s with just drag radials!

Most of it depends on your budget and If you do your own work. If your crafty you can score alot of the parts used. Almost all E55 in normal mechinical shape should run 12.20 or faster. Pulley and tune will put you in the 11.6-11.8 area. 82mm TB will put you 11.4-11.6 Long tube headers 11.0-11.4. Thats the basic power adders, there ae lots of supporting mods such as Heat exchanger and ect. I'm sure you could spend 8-10k but I have done all of the above for far less to the area of 3k
Good luck and I think you would like the 55's huge torque over the SRT.

Thanks guys for the quick reply. I've been tossing and turning . My lx Buddys are just stick with it , but my heart always been with the e55. I didn't have enough money 5 years ago so I bought a e500 but ended up selling it for the Srt because it was to slow. So now I'm back to square 1 . I do have videos on YouTube just Type up DVSSRT8 or worlds fastest srt8 all motor.

A year an a half ago it layed down 483RWHP and went 11.54 that was before the new set of heads and a more efficient converter. I haven't dyno it since but it should lay down over 500rwhp since it's gone .4 faster and gained 5mph.

I really mean this. WHERE DO YOU LIVE??
These need to be run in SUPER low DA's to get those kind of results. \
If you live in Vegas or similiar eleva, you will never run those kind of numbers in an E55.
Needs to be Sacto, MIR or that S Florida strip and cooler weather..forgot the name but everyone was smoking there a few years ago.

If that was you, you got to witness a wide variety of mods that day at the track. We had a stock E55 (11.9), stage 2(11.6-11.7), stage 3(11.39-11.45), stage 3 (11.29-11.4), and I don't know what stage I am...lol (10.85-11.01)

By chance are you from the Bay Area? I spoke with someone at Sac a few weeks ago at a TNT that had a black 300. I have the black E55 that ran in the 10.8's. I believe we lined up on my very first pass but not sure. Just curious because the same guy said he wanted to get into a E55.

Yeah that was me that you spoke with. After you beat me that was like a slap to my face like what are you could of had a fast *** e55. When the game plan is if I can sell it and buy an e55 without coming out the pocket then I might do it. I kinda wanna be the first 6.1 NA to crack into the 10"s so I might just have to wait till this fall or winter.
Jackpro, you guessed it buddy...Sac town. I figure there are only a few tracks out there that would allow these times during the right conditions...HRP, Sac, MIR, and FL. I'm just luck to have such a fast track within two hours of my house.

That would be easy to say. I'm already pushing the car to the max any other mods would mean me getting a forged block $8000-$10000 and then a transmission $5000 and thats where I'm at right now if I wanna go any faster it's going to cost almost $15000 to do it right and that's not even the supercharger that is another $7000.Thats the cost of a used e55.

Is this going to be your DD?
Lots of talk of the 1/4 (rightfully so), but not much about what a sweet ride the Merc is from day to day. Not trying to knock the 300 but there aren't manny rides out there that can touch the fit, finish and luxury of the E55.
Beside, you just said it yourself...you are pushing the limits of your current engine. The M113 has been proven to be damn near bullet proof, tuned correctly.
As far as headaches, given proper research (which your off to a great start with btw) the 55 should be straight forward to mod and drive. There is just so much leg work already done for you.
Records are great, but they can often lead to very expensive heartbreak.
GL with whatever you decide.

Yes it is my DD and I do miss the luxury of a benz. Long story short It would just be nice to be in a luxurious mid 10sec DD without having any reliability issues and the e55 should be the best bang for the buck.
