So i have the 172mm waiting to be installed..... I'm getting my tune in 2 weeks... my questions are:
Is this safe (pulley w/o a tune)?
How much RWHP/TRQ should i pick up with just the pulley?
How much RWHP/TRQ Will i pick up wit both pulley and tune?
thanks......

3rd gear is going to feel alot better.I say about 40whp 40rwt across the band and 50whp 60ftbs with a tune.
I picked up 60whp with a tune and 180 pulley. If you can your best bet is to do a before and after dyno.
Also what setup are you going with?

+1, try to take it a bit easy until you get your tune. It's a 172, so don't be too freaked out though. You can get on it hard a few times to feel it out.
Don't judge too much until you get the tune though. As your stock car picks up the extra boost, she will pull timing a bit to protect it and then a bit more when IAT heat picks up.
Tune tells her to relax and enjoy it.
Get that tune on and then heat exchanger in asap.
With the extra heat and summer, SC may shut down on you under hard use without heat exchanger add on.
Last thing, (sorry if you already knew this) but make sure you are using a new bolt on the crank pulley when you install. It's a stretch bolt and is only supposed to be for one use.

Ok two parts to this...Originally Posted by shardul

1) I highly dubt you will run lean, these cars are crazy rich from the factory. My set up before my tune was headers no cats 3 inch exh, 178mm pulley 85mm TB and my afrs were still 11.6 even when i switched to the 195mm pulley my afrs were still 12.4
2)Iits still good advise to take it easy and I think its critical or maybe even boardeline negligent not to have a wideband and a obd reader in a boosted car, even more so with what MB wants for parts.
thanks for the info...yes i picked up a new bolt and gates k080514 belt yesterday... I will probably do a quick exercise with her, but for the most part i will lay low until i get my tune......
