A Service "D" should take about 4 hours to complete, it's Mikeevo stated. it's a typical service for oil, air filters along with a brake flush maybe a tranny flush, etc. But the car, will tell the technician what it requires, when they hook up the diagnostic computer to it.

The Stealer around here just does an A or B. They do not perform the other "letters" for services. Not sure why, but that is what they do.

like Yuille36 said, the only thing definitive about a Service D is that the computer thinks it will take 4 hrs. As a result, a dealer can not quote it because they have no idea what materials may be involved in what your FSS thinks needs to be done.

You should use your maintenance manual to determine what needs to be done to your car. A good reason for doing that is when you bring the car in for a specific service, they may still reset the FSS completely. This happened to me when I had the transmission oil changed. I had to manually go in and delete the engine oil change and brake fluid change. FSS only gives you a limited time to do that. So the FSS may not be correct about what needs to be done on your car. Your records and maintenance manual are the way to go.
