Bought an E63 today!! I love it!! :)
So I was in need of a car because I found out yesterday that my other car needs some significant work done due to an exploding spark plug and coil pack. Well, while I wait for that car to be repaired, I decided I needed something to drive. I had considered the E55 last year when I was in a mood to get a sedan for my new daughter to ride in, and remembered liking those, but feared supercharger trouble. I had recently driven a friends Audi A5 and liked that and was leaning towards getting an S5 instead of the E55. Anyway, today I went to the Audi dealership in Indianapolis because I had spoken with a sales rep there yesterday about a black S5 that they had just received off lease. I get there thinking that I am going to get the S5. Well, lets just say their sales rep has a lot to learn about customer service. Even though HE invited me in to see and drive the car, when I got there the car was back in the service bullpen, he would not let me look inside of it, and said I could not drive it until next week when service was open and they could examine it. I expressed dislike for him wasting my time and having me come in on a Saturday morning, and promptly left after some more condescending comments he made towards me inferring he did not think I was a 'buyer'. Big mistake.
I went straight from the Audi dealer to another dealership that had a beautiful black E63 on their lot. A friend of mine and I had looked at the car casually the day before when I knew I was buying something. To quote him, 'Get the E63. That thing looks positively evil'. Well, I drove it, and was blown away. This thing is FAST!! I went home with it, appealed to the wife's interests with reminding her how safe and roomy these cars are for our baby and her safety. Test fitted the stroller in the trunck. Perfect fit with room to spare. Showed her all of the airbags and safety features. Check. Green light from the wife.![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Within a couple of hours I was signing on the dotted line, cutting a check, and leaving with a wicked black E63. The evil part of me wants to go back to the Audi dealer and show them what they missed. LOL!!
Anyway, here I am, and I am glad to be part of the group. Have a great day! I am going for a drive!![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

Congrats, enjoy in good health. Sales reps don't understand the impact of the slightest snide action, I would have done the same exact thing.

Well Congratulations, and welcome to the AMG Family. Enjoy your new ride, I was blasting down the rode today at 120 mph in my car. She had something stuck in her throat that needed clearing, if you know what I mean.

Congrats and enjoy. And don't tell the wifey about the gas mileage ![devil](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/devil.gif)
I had the same sort of experience from an Audi dealer a few years back. And I've heard similar stories from others. Plus they don't even seem that interested in their product.
Audi's May 2010 sales volume in the USA was pretty low, way below VW, Mercedes, and BMW. Even Buick and Cadillac was higher than Audi

Congrats on a beautiful purchase. Welcome to the board.
BTW I had a similar experience @ a Cadillac dealership, a month after they filed for bankruptcy. Implied I wasn't one of the "people who buys this type of car," despite owning BMWs, MBZ and GM in the past. Oh well, their loss for 1) stupidity, and 2) their arrogance.
Enjoy!

Great choice. Of the cars you were looking, the E63 is superior in EVERY way.
A5 vs. E63. Seriously.
Oh, and I'd drop by the Audi dealer in the E63 and talk to the manager. Trust me the sales manager would want to know.

congrats on the new E63. I hate it win sales guys at dealerships think you can't afford when you offer less than what they want for the car. Similar happened to me. Ended up buying my benz 1 hr after leaving one dealership and going to another. I wanted to drive back and say, i bought a benz like i said i would.

Thank you! I was also considering the 996 Twin Turbo and GT2, but thought those would be a hard sell to the wife in terms of a new daily driver. Either way, I am very excited about the E63. I have let a few friends drive it and they were blown away. They had no idea the car would be as fast and comfortable as it is.
