ARP Head Bolts
Anybody have them on their benz? With all the guys starting to run higher boost levels I would think these would keep the heads from lifting. I believe all the 112/113's use the same head bolts. I'm going to look into getting a custom set made

Know of 112/113 owners running enough boost to lift the head? I'm no expert, but my feeling is that the stock supercharger will run out of efficiency before the head will lift.

since you can't get that out of our supercharger the answer would be no

PS... it doesn't take 25+psi of boost to lift heads on a high compression supercharged engine

You can actually lift ANY head fairly easy with lousy gas. ANY spark rattle raises the pressure inside the cylinder to ludicrous levels, and can lift the head with ease.
Just FYI.

The "spark rattle" you refer to is detonation. You are correct, it can kill any engine. If your car is detonating, lifting the head is the least of your concerns.
The link you posted is a discussion of guys boosting N/A motors. The stress tolerances built into head studs are different than for motors intended to be forced induction.
EDIT: I'm not trying to discourage the idea. I actually hope you do get them made and available to the general public. It would be great to have the option to use them when building a motor. You did post this in the W211 AMG section though, so we tend to reference that car in discussions.

Are you sure ARP makes a better bolt than the one MB uses on our cars? And, the number of bolts and their location is more important than the bolt.

I wonder if you can send a stock bolt set to ARP, then have them send you back something for your application. It might not be a case of just matching thread pitch and bolt length.. As some ARP fasteners have different torque specs over OEM. I think If you drop an email to ARP or call them, they can hook up with what you need...Or not.

Hahaha sorry. No biggie, it was under $5 after discount. Not sure if I'm even going to do them since I dont think I'm going to turn up the boost anymore. Thanks for all your help though

Maybe people should actually start lifting heads before we even talk about this. I mean, it's not like this is happening left and right. We haven't fully figured out how to keep pistons alive so the least of my worries are head gaskets.

hey guy,
i read this thread, just wanted to say i have in issue with my 04 e55 running a wiestec supercharger kit and my head is coming up from having lots of boost... did anyone find out about the arp head studs and there dimensions?
