First vomited in SLS?
Last Saturday I was at road Atlanta participating in the AMG Driving Academy basic course. We had been driving a variety of AMGs all day and it was now late in the Afternoon and I was driving the SLS. I am starting to get comfortable with the track so going faster and faster (at least for me). We just come out of turn seven which leads into a long straight away. I’m at WOT and the sweet machine is accelerating nicely when my driving partner informs me that he thinks he is going to be sick. I couldn’t believe it, barf in a SLS? Up on the right is a little access road so I mash on those enormous binders. The SLS brakes effortlessly going from 120 - 130 to nothing in a heartbeat. I get us safely off the main track and he opens the gull wing. Instead of getting out and clear of the car, he rotates his head a la Linda Blair and out comes the catered lunch from a few hours ago. Luckily only limited splatter hits the leather interior with most of the vomit either clearing the car or going down the side. So does my driving partner have the dubious honor of being the first to puck in an SLS?
Actually, I really felt sorry for my driving buddy. Here we are driving this incredible machine on one of the best road courses in America and he is dealing with motion sickness and unable to fully enjoy the experience. At the beginning of the day, the instructors recommended we all take Dramamine. I did just to be safe and so did my partner. Unfortunately, the hard braking, cornering, accelerating and Georgia heat got to him anyway.
By the way, what an incredible program. The instructors were great. All race car drivers and driving instructors for many years. The track at road Atlanta was awesome, and those cars. We drove the C63, E63, SL63, SLK55, CLK63 Black Series and the SLS.

Are you sure it wasn't your constant overcorrecting, saving from the grasslands, not being smooth, etc that caused the vomit? I've never ever heard an instructor recommending chemicals.

Maybe the instructors knew us beginners would be less than smooth on our braking, throttle and steering inputs thus the suggestion for chemicals.

Have you been to Laguna Seca? I am trying to figure out a way to go in November for the advanced class.
