Chrysler Cancelling Warranties?
WTF? My SA told me Chrysler is cancelling warranties on our cars. I read on the other warranty thread that it happened to a member here, sorry to hear that.
Anyone else experience this or have any info?

Interesting.
I hadn't read that Chrysler was cancelling warranties (i.e. aftermarket service contracts) - do you have a link to the member that happened to?
From the other thread, it does sound like they are no longer willing to put new policies in force for MB/AMG owners, so they're no longer accepting new applications from us - but that's a big difference vs. cancelling existing contractual obligations, which is what I'm inferring from the language in your post.

Yes, you inferred correctly. They cancelled a member's warranty. I don't want to link to the other member's post and this is not meant to be about the other member. Its in the other warranty thread, though.

i am curious of this isssue -- i have this warranty -- i have used and abused it alot -- just @ the dealer last week and no issues at all --- Well, if they cancel it kinda sucks but I should get a +$3000 refund from them.

Chrysler stopped covering Mercedes in their warranties as of May 20th, 2010. However, many of their sales outlets were still selling the warranty after that date for whatever reason. So Chrysler began canceling all service contracts purchased on that date forward. Do you happen to remember what date you purchased your contract?

hey - thats why you buy it -- peace of mind -- and to pay for repairs -- dont blame me -- blame the dealer who finds all the repairs ---- Also, its not my fault chrysler is stupid - they do not try to negotiate labor or parts pricing -- even my SA is shocked

I "bought" my warranty on May 14th but didn't get the used vehicle inspection done until June 11th... I hope that doesn't cause problems for me. I'm a little worried about this now.

Now if anyone who has successfully gone through the application, inspection, and payment process (and subsequently received contract paperwork in the mail from CSC) 6, 12, 18 months ago, has thereafter had their service contract cancelled and were refunded the proportional coverage remaining - that would be a different story. I haven't heard of that happening, but it would be quite newsworthy if it did (and would want to hear from members what the circumstances were). My $0.02.

I purchased the Chrysler warranty in February and just had the transmission in my SLK55 replaced a few weeks ago. Glad I beat that May 20th deadline.

Makes sense; they were never valid contracts if third parties were selling something no longer offered.
