iphone 4 and bluetooth= your ringtone
i got the iphone 4 on thursday, and besides the fact that its the worlds greatest phone, now the worlds greatest car gets a new feature. on the 3gs a call connected via bluetooth would ring with the annoying mercedes ringtone. now your personal ringtone can be heard through your speakers. pretty neat. im not sure if any other phones do this, or if its an ios4 thing, but a nice surprise indeed.

I enjoy my 3GS but with all of the news about the 4 being a brick for a phone if you hold it, I have backed off. Seems many are more interested in the image of owning the new Iphone instead of it actually working like a phone should. This is not just a few sites, this is practically all of the major sites reporting this. That would be like owning a Ferrari with a Rav4 motor in it.

This is nothing new, anytime I pair a Motorola phone with the car I get the ringtone through bluetooth... Happened in my BMW E66 as well... It must be some sort of upgraded bluetooth profile...

Its an OS4 software thing not special to iphone4. I recently put the new software on my 3GS and it just started ringing with my ringtone. My mytouch slide still uses the mbphone system ringer

I like how people are all of a sudden so worried about how the Iphone 4 has issues. Does everyone forget that all the previous versions had issues as well? They just take a couple months to work out the kinks and it'll be fine.

Your stating the obvious that everyone already is aware of, the concerns are legit, and the signal issue appears to be more hardware related vs software unlike prior concerns. Will Apple makes things better, sure they will, just not at this moment.

ya. i figured it was a bluetooth profile upgrade. just thought i would share for those who care. and to those iphone 4 haters out there. when your in the car, ITS HANDSFREE. so no reception issues. IF YOUR PHONE/ CAR/ COMPUTER has never had some kind of a software issue, ever; you are not using it correctly. apple does a good job of trying to push out updates. so if you decide to wait till 4.x good for you.
