Quick Question - Eurocharge 180mm Pulley

Guys,

Quick question if I may. I've been very happy with the Stage 1 Eurocharged tune and it's time for more. I'm looking to move on to the 180mm Pulley and the upgraded HE/Intercooler both from Eurocharged performance.

Honestly one of the big draws for me here is they'll re-tune my MB at no cost as long as I buy all the parts from them.

With a re-tune, upgraded HE, 180mm Pulley and K&N's what HP/TQ could I expect both at the crank and RW and is there any "Gotchas" to watch for?

Final question regarding labor to install, how many hours should it take a shop to install both components so I know I'm not being ripped off? (guestimating 3-5 hours). I'm here in AZ so I can't take the car to them to install, but there are some excellent shops here in Scottsdale AZ.

Thanks very much.

Alex

i though a refash was free regardless of where you buy the parts from. 3-5 hrs seems about right for install labor

I would go with a 172,180 is too much heat esp in your area.

ohh and this is coming from a 180 and down to a 168 lol.

Thanks for the feedback guys. A Local tuner is quoting me 5 hours of labor for the HE, 180mm Pulley and E63 spoiler install.

The re-tune is free from Eurocharged which is why I love them. They'll even send me the laptop so I can tune it remotely. (I'm in AZ and they're in IL).

Here's the pulley I'll be getting:
http://www.eurocharged.com/index.php...mart&Itemid=66

Here's the HE:
http://www.eurocharged.com/index.php...mart&Itemid=99

I should be fine with the heat correct as I have the Johnson pump installed already? May I ask is there any major concerns with heat between the 172mm pulley and 180mm pulley if this is just a daily driver? I does get hot here in AZ so I would be open to dropping down to the 172mm if you all recommended this.

What is the HP difference between the 172mm and the 180mm?

Thanks.

Alex

with the CM30 i would recommed sticking with the 172mm since the ambient condtions are harsh.
now if you ditch the CM30 and use a Meziere WP136 you will be able to manage the IATs the 180 produces.

use dyno comp for the install and use the 180, I have a upgraded HE and pump and have never had SC shut off.

Not trying to bust your chops but why not at least consider a set of headers instead of increasing boost into an engine that will continue to struggle to exhale it?? Proven time and time again on our cars to be a 30+ WHEEL increase.

No need for long tubes but a nice set of Kleemann or the like will really make her get up and jump.

Just my 2 cents.

You look good to go on the HE and pulley upgrade....don't see any issues over here.

Go with the CM30 to start. You don't need to yank the bumper to pull the pump afterward so if you need more flow, you can add the super pump later.

The reason I'm not going with headers on this next phased upgrade is cost. Headers run $1,500 - $2,000 but they are my next scheduled upgrade. Link: http://www.eurocharged.com/index.php...mart&Itemid=99

By the way do the above headers make the car any louder if I just change them and not the exhaust? Sounds wierd but I like my E55 quiet.

Thanks!

Alex

I would say no, I've been in Alan's beast and it is not much louder than stock inside the cabin.(a bit deeper tone but we were also driving with the radio off so that's all i noticed) add some music and you wont notice the difference but once you step on the gas its a different ball game (i'm speaking from being outside of the car during his burnouts or being in the pits cleaning my car between runs and I always know when he does his burnout.

I know 2 people that have run 11.0X with a 168 pulley and vinny ran into the 10s with a 172,after I told him the 180 would slow him down and he ended up trying it anyway,he ran worse than a 168 setup.

Iv had the 180,its a huge joke, the car is fast as hell for about 3 seconds then slow as **** at the track.

like trap 118 then trap 112 then trap 110 ect.

I would go with heatexchanger, tune, headers and then add a 168/72 later on,that is a consistant low 11 second car.Good luck,I just know to many people that have taken the 180 off the car including myself and wanted to give you the heads up.

I just got flashbacks of watching my iats skyrocket from 100 to 160 in no time lol
