Ordered the 180mm ASP Pulley

Ordering the HE from LET/Eurocharged today so looking forward to the +70HP (With Stage 2) Re-Tune from Let/Eurochared in about two weeks!

  • E55/C55/SL55/G55 03-06 AMG (From ASP Website)
  • 42 hp to wheels
  • 17% Overdrive Harmonic Dampner wp pulley, belt
  • Part # ASP331390

In a few months time I will order the Kleenman (SP?) headers from Let/Eurcharged which should give me an additional +40 HP, so the beast will be 600HP/600TQ at the crank.

Let's light this candle!!!!

Happy 4th everyone, thanks for all your advice with this upgrade.

Alex

E55, Supercharged Z4 (sold)
Sounds awesome. I'm right behind you! Just waiting for a good time to get my 180 and headers on. One question. Why did you choose a shorty header design over the long tube? Just don't want to cut into the exhaust?

Asolutely! As others have said on this board, you will probably NOT see much better track results with the 180, even with the HE, due to the small IC circuit capacity. However, for the 99.99% of the time you're on the street it'll be awesome. I've been fortunate enough to have experienced a couple of 50 degree nights, and I swear the car picks up 50hp and an ungodly amount of torque when it's cold out compared to 80-90 degree days.

Ho-lapping back to back to back the car runs about 2 tenths quicker in the 1/8th and the 1/4, but even with the stock HE the MPH is very consistent(within .5 mph) and I have never had the SC shut down. I think you will be VERY happy.

He will still need to remove primary cats and do some modifications to the exhaust in order for the Kleemanns to work. They are actually considered a mid length header if you want to be technical.

reason i would go with a shorty is becasue my car is lowered more than the usual amount, and the LT hang very low so that is why

All,

Yes thanks very much for all your help with this upgrade. I talked to many of you often via PM so your guidance was crucial espeically since I live in Phoenix AZ, the second hottest place in the US after Death Valley so I had to make sure I wasn't putting too much heat in the engine or the pulley would fail.

I'm confident with the high quality 180mm ASP pulley and an HE from Eurocharged including a retune (I have their Stage 1 tune now and love it), my E55 will be even more of a monster.

As an, "Older Guy" turning 41 next week with a wifey, 2 kids and 1 on the way (He's a boy!) I probablly will never track my E55. I WILL however take quiet satisfaction in absolutely detroying the, "Rice and Ridiculous" cars that tail gate me in the middle lane when I'm already going 75 MPH in a 65 MPH zone. Or as just happened the other day, when I need to get over one lane as mine is ending (and my indicator/blinker signaling I need to get over a lane), and souped up Mazda 3 and a Honda Civic in the both left lanes rev on me and launch hard off the line with the intent to block me from merging, as my lane ends in 100 yards.

I of course need only to bury the hyperspace button/gas pedal and I easily clear them within 30 yards despite them launch at full throttle (this just happened yesterday morning during my drive into work) and merge over legally.

They of course then tailgate me taking about 30 secs to understand my license plate which reads, "GONEIN4" a slightly obtouse reference to my 0-60MPH time (not every get's it surprisingly) and then they eventually back off or pass me at full throttle as I merge over into the slow lane. (Where I stay most of my time in my 100 mile DAILY commute.)

Long, but true story, hehe...just love blowing tailgaters into the weeds, especially when I'm already going 10-15MPH OVER the speed limit.

Here are the headers I will get in a few months time after my current mod: http://www.eurocharged.com/index.php...mart&Itemid=99

I like the shorties as there is slightly less modification required to the exhuast (I believe) and of course Kleeman as a great reputation. Given my current mods, would you you all recommend these headers as my next logical upgrade?

Thanks again, very, very excited!

Alex
