Learning my P Cars. Is this 996 or 997?

Pretty average when compared to machines like Vics but I caught it outside the restaurant tonight.

This is a 996 right? How can you tell the difference between the 2 anyway?

Iphone pic so sorry in advance. OH check the caddy in the background of the bottom pic.

I have always look at the headlights - The 997 has the more classic 911 shape.
I hate the headlights on the 996 (pictured above), I think they really ruin the look of an otherwise beautiful car.

IMHO the 993 is the most beautiful P-car ever

2001 996tt. To me it is much more bland then the 997tt. I still would rock one, but definitely not my favorite in the turbo lineage. I love this 997tt!!

Yup 996...Agree with all these ^^ Probably the P-Car with the least character...Still a fun drive, and like 930 I'd rock one

Anyone fancy a Speedster..?? One of the guys in our club used to drive for Porsche in the 70's and 80's and has an amazing collection in his "garage" aka museum. Unfortunately he got rid of the 959 a couple years ago...

I agree the 993 has the nicest lines. Esp the WB version. Only because I own one, LOL.

imho, the 996s are not only ugly but too watered down in their build quality. The 996 was the first 911 to be mass produced on a full assembly line. But the 997s are a vast improvement over the 996.

The 993 is visceral and a great driver's car. I just got done chewing up the back mountain roads in Ojai this afternoon. There's nothing like driving a light and balanced car. Totally addictive. The E63 ends up being kinda boring even though it's way faster.

997 looks more like the classic "frog" porsche.
and 997 is drenched in LED lighting and such.

For a car that is almost 10 years old, it is still bad-***!

996 Twin Turbo is the best value for a 400+ supercar available right now...prices have dipped into the $30's...great car ...extremely reliable and incredible powerful.

In the turbo lineage:
930>993>965>997>996 in my opinion

No longer stock '06 E55, A3 3.2 Quattro, LRD4 HSE, R107 280SL
The fried egg headlapmps dont work for me ... 997 is nice , 993 is the classic to collect - last of the aircooled.

Also the rear side scoops in 997 have a divider in it the 996 has no split.

check my sig for what I desire!

Think it's a veteran plate, that or a purple heart plate. Marines maybe?
