Should I dump the M3 for a W212 E63? I could be back!!
The title says it all. I have stupid deal pending on a W212 63 for about 35k off sticker; so basically I can get a 100k car for 65k. They are just not selling which means I can get in for a short term lease or buy a depreciating bucket!!!
I would not want to add to my stable at this time but replace. The 997tt and GTR are projects and keepers as I continue to add mods to both. And basically they are my faves of the lot!!
But the M3 was a spur of the moment deal last August and I modded it to the hilt in 4 days and it has every bolt on available. I makes almost the same wheel hp as the stockie makes at the crank and with the DCT its a pretty quick.
But this deal would be to replace one daily with another. Neither car is perfect but Id like your thoughts since most of you have great perspectives and also know about the W212 which I'm less knowledgeable about. Please know that I will mod the W212 with headers, exhaust, lowering, and wheels plus a tune so it will be faster (I hope).
The W212 has every option sans the performance package and maybe a few other minor items. Its white with black interior and I also have a red one as a possibility but a red sedan is a tough cookie to enjoy over a long period IMHO.
I do really enjoy the M3 alot so its not a easy decision. Will I like the W212 modded over my M3? Is the W212 really a good handler with its new suspension. I know the MCT is inferior to the DCT but by how much? Im sure the new luxury items in the W212 are superior to the M3 but by how much. I drove the W212 a while back and it was fun but my drive was short and I do need to test it again (of course this is the ultimate decisionmaking process but why not ask you all!!) So any thoughts, comments, input, is all appreciated. I could be back with my 4th AMG!!!! I guess that would make me being a mod more appropriate?![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
My M3 is the E92 coupe and here are some pics:

How will you feel in 10 months when the 63TT (AKA 5.5TT) hits the street?
Will you want to be holding a N/A 63?
If you are just ready for a change, try the Audi R8.

Very true!!! Maybe I should do a 2 year lease!! I think that would be ideal so I would not have to keep this too long and then walk away if it depreciates further??? Food for thought here. I wouldnt be considering if the deal wasnt so good.

I only respond directly to members that actually own a MB, so I will need to address this issue in the third person.
Rock feels that a switch form an E90 M3 to a W212 E63 would be an overall upgrade. In terms of performance, luxury, comfort and utility the E63 is just in a different category.
Rock has seen the E63 win several head to head match-ups including wins over the 2010 Cadillac CTS-V and Jaguar XFR. Also, it was faster around Top Gear's test track than the M3.
As far as appearance goes, Rock feels that both cars are beautiful but the E63 is a more mature automobile and the one most appropriate for just about any occasion.
Finally, Rock wishes you would post in the appropriate forum in the future.

Vic has plenty of fast car. The E63 will probably his daily beater. Even thought I don't like the W212 E63, but you can't pass up a deal likethat Vic.

You already have the GT-R and the 997, the M3 just seems to offset both of those rides. I would try maybe a 24 month lease on it. Heck for 65k why not.

I'd go for the E63..you have already a 997tt and a GTR, which are two very fast sports cars - no need for an M3, that's just superfluous! The E63 will be a nice change, more comfortable, and fit more people in terms of a daily driver - plus it's still a great car performance wise.
You having the other 2 cars really makes this an easier choice, the E63 will fit right in as there is nothing like it compared to the other 2.

Not sure why Rock thinks this is the wrong forum. Weird post.
Anyway, I'd sell the M3, but I don't really like the E92. I sold my E46 M3 for a 335i and [U]immediately[U] regretted it.
The 997TT and GTR should satisfy the lust

W212 subject matter in the W211 forum is unacceptable.
.......... and yes I agree that that was a weird post............it looked creative when I was in "preview" mode.

The E63 makes more sense with the rest of your stable.
Do a lease and get the red one. At least it'll be rare out on the road but you won't have to worry about resale. After playing with it for a few years you'll be ready (or not) to stay with the platform (and with the new motors) or go on to something else.

Since you already have two other track toys, I'd dump the M3 and get in the E63. Play around for a couple years and wait for AMG to work out the new bugs on the 5.5 TT

All your posts make total sense (except Rocks) ... I think I will do this but the red one seems very interesting now. I do have a red 997TT but when do I ever drive both at the same time.
The IS-F is out of the question as a trade or I would dump that first. Its a long story, basically its a factory car with a subsidized payment which we are stuck with.

I am very interested to hear about the killer deal. Even if the car has miles, the lowest used price I have seen is $78K. Can you provide any details?
Since you mod everything you get, will be interested to see what you do here.

Vic, I love your M3, but knowing you the E will look just as great in no time. Personally I'm not a big fan of white cars (bought one a long time ago and regretted it the very next day) so the red 63 would be my choice. It's a great deal for a couple of years ............. until the blown M6 comes out

My deal is not remotely available to the public... Im going under the Mercedes employee program and the GM and I have been friends for a while. He owes me for selling a new CL65 to me for 100k... yes he owes me cause I got burned only a few months later.

What up bro! I know you are not a white car lover and Im the exact opposite. I guess the red would work but I dont even hold my cars two years and with the red Id be beyond stuck. White not so much!! IDK- I need to go see the cars.
On a different note, I have located a white one with the P3 package aka the AMG package. Is this worth it? Its almost 8k more.
