Get a set of cats back on and see how it goes. The straight pipes are also maybe not helping noise pollution levels

GL!

Also Dyno
Are those the SLS/E carbon break kit !!? it can fit our cars...lol what is the weight savings?
i doubt it is worth the cost of the break kit....
I was sick of it the day I put it in. It actually sounds good in person, just too loud for my taste. A lot of people are into that.

What I am really curious about is how it wouldve sounded if I did the exact same setup with 2.75 diameter piping. Is the volume attributed more to pipe size or removal of cats???

[QUOTE=beauphus;4185426]I was sick of it the day I put it in. It actually sounds good in person, just too loud for my taste. A lot of people are into that.

What you have to understand is the CLS mufflers are way louder then the E. So going by E standards are not always good. Trust me u will miss the sporty yet refined sound of the stock system if u go too loud.

I would get the cats back on, as this should help with 2 things sound/smell. You do not want to be getting out of the car only for some one to say waaa your car is fuming something nasty at the back!

let me put it this way. Car with shortis, 1 set of cats and mufflers is still very loud. You have LT's and no cats and straight pipes lol..God help the people you live next to is all I can say

p.s u sort out 3rd to 4th shifting?

i think that pipe diameter is what determines the sound wave amplitude, so it sounds more throaty in medium and lower frequencies (i.e. those we perceive mostly even at lower volume levels);
cats act as mufflers, therefore they lowers the volume level, but they are less efficient al lowering the volume of lower frequencies !)
the combination of both factors is ... what you've got

Will they install on an E? Anyone done this? Sounds like the best of both worlds - better sound and factory appearance.
