Car turned off while driving and wont start now?

So jus got my e55 with 60k on it 2 weeks ago and driving home tonite it shuts off while im driving. I pull over and I wont start but will turn over, I try after about 30 mins it starts on its own and the cel goes away when I get home. Check it now and wont start again about and hour later since being home. What is going on here? I was due for my service B about 1000 miles ago but I dont think anything there is the cause? I am getting it done tommorrow though, so any help is much needed, Thanks!

From what I've read on this forum, my guess would be crank position sensor... It's an easy and relatively cheap fix...

From my understanding if CPS fail shouldn't be while driving.

My E55 wagon would do this. It would crank but not start. Had to try it 3 times before it started. Took it in and it’s the fuel senders in the tank. The check valve was passing and not allowing fuel pressure to stay in the line. My car also didn’t show the fuel level so this will get repaired at the same time. Total cost for me is 2k. And they did check the CPS and it was fine in my car.
