Spark plugs and ignition wire replacement (prices and where to find them)
SubscribeHowdy All,
Last weekend I swapped out my spark plugs and ignition wires. I scoured the innernets for the best possible deal and wanted to share what I got.
Spark plugs - I got the NGK LFR7AIX (step colder than stock) at the suggestion of chiromikey. I paid $107.50 for 16 plugs, and then when I couldn't find anyone else that had a another full set of 16 online, I contacted the seller to see if he had an additional 16, which he did. For the additional 16, I got them for $97.90 (this was for a fellow MBWorlder). I found them on ecrater from a fellow named Nghia Thai (ngksparkplugs@hotmail.com). So total for 32 plugs shipped was $205.40, pretty good price!
Ignition wires - I looked all over and there are only a few places that you can find the Bosch wires. Partsgeek has them, as does another site I can't remember, but both sites require you to order the wires separately. Rock Auto had a complete set for $172.79 and $7.63 for shipping. Before I order anything online I always look up coupon codes and found a 5% discount and after adding that, the total was $171.78 tax, title, tags, out the door!

Hey guys,
My dealer suggested today that I shall do my plugs. But after I got quoted $720 for I said "Wait a minute". That much for plugs?
Is this a hard DIY ? I guess I will do more search on this, but will like to get feedback on where to get parts for it
Cheers

This isn't too hard to do, but I had Chris helping me. However, for 16 plugs I got them for $105 or something like that (I think I even posted the guy's information to get them from as they were the cheapest we've seen for these plugs), and as mentioned, the wire set for around $160.Originally Posted by francars
