can someone please tell me what this gadget is?
it is in the glove box. the ipod adapter is in the center console and plays odd the CDC button. this seems to be hooked to the AUX but I am not 100% sure. I plugged an ipod into it and as soon as you plug something in it cut out the radio for a slit second but can not get it to recognize it . There are no markings or stampings anywhere on it..

Are those alligator clips..?? I have no idea what the point of that is. My iPod connector is in my glove box, though I wish it wasn't. RCA is for audio, 1/8" to RCA, lots of other cars use that as their Aux in (infiniti for one) so you have to get that adapter cable...

This might be a silly guess but if you're not the first owner and this was in the car when you got the car my guess would be the aux input and USB slot for an after market HU that was installed at some point and probably the factory one was put back in the car prior to sale.
