Pano Roof Broken

Hey Guys. My pano roof had a plastic piece and spring which broke off causing the roof to not open or close. My warranty declined the fix and I was told it was $450 to fix. Has anyone had experience with repairing the pano roof? I was told the linkages and draft reflector arms need to be replaced although from what I seen it only looked like one plastic piece and a spring broke off. Any help would be appreciated on how or where I can find these parts, thanks.

mine is at the dealer right now for that.

I had a problem where it was getting jammed on one side . i dont remember if it was the wind deflector or what. But one side would get jammed. the warranty covered most of it, but they said the rails were bent or something. the dealer ended up replacing everything under warranty. the warranty just had to verify the rails were bent and apparently there was alot of labor involved taking them apart to prove this.

3k in warranty work done, then got the motor and tranny mounts replaced as well, 0 deductible .

My drivers side clip broke but I caught it before any track damage was done. I put it back together and used a zip tie. Been fine for 1yr. I need to say something before my ext warranty runs out next year.

All the parts were there in my case. I was able to snap it back together and then zip tie to hold. I could see where the parts could pop and fall out. A call to MB parts may help.

I thought mine was covered, but they came back saying it was not which is gay.

You might be right on zip tying it to get it to work because I happened to hold the spring and plastic piece in place while closing at the same time and got it to close, but longterm I think it needs to be fixed. I just cannot afford $450 for a moon roof to open and close, oh well.

I have the same problem. It got stuck on one side. They replace the motor for $800 and now they said the rails need to be replaced cause they might be bent and some tabs broke off. They said it will be another $1500. No warranty Anyone know how to fix this yourself? I have some mechanic friends that said they would do it if could get the parts.

There is no way to add a warranty after it has already expired is there?

From what I've heard most pano repairs involve pulling the headliner so yeah labor would be HIGH...lol...Sounds like you got semi lucky Mikey, though i feel you on the $450 just to open and close part...

Back from the dead. I have a quick question because I think it is time to fix this damn roof! The draft reflector arm is what they told me a long time ago, but when searching for parts that is not the name it is called. Anybody know what the "draft reflector arms" are referring to? Thx

Probably the little arms that push up your wind deflector, the big glass piece at the very front that tilts up when you slide the roof open.

Do you know the name of the part or which one it is from this diagram?

Same problem. Draft deflector arms with the springs are part 300 in the diagram

I had the same issue with one side of the pano. I just unscrewed the metal finger that was left so that one whole side of the assembly is now gone. The roof now closes fine, but the glass wind shield that props up when the roof is open is only supported by one side. Works ok for now and didn't cost anything.
