That Mercedes Vice President of Marketing math is wrong. He said the new E55 has 115 more HP than the old. It is 120 more HP.

nice video good car but wow that guy. I hope he is much better with the pen than with his spoken english. Well besides that I am really considering getting a 03 E55. I have about 55K to put down i wonder what my payments would be to drive one of those off the lot.

Mercedes never officially said or reported that the W210 E55 has 354 HP for the US. The number listed in my 2002 owners manuel is 355HP. Same number (355) was listed in the spec for the 2002 S55 and CL55. While the 2001 CL55 & S55 was listed at 354HP.
We AMG enthusiast are speculating and hoping that the real number for the W211 E55 is 493HP just like S55, SL55 & CL55 for 2003 and the E55 loses HP only on paper due to some marketing or advertising dilemma.

Here is a photo I took at AMG in Affalterbach about three weeks ago. The guy there said that they do show different HP figures in the marketing literature so that owners of more expensive vehicles don't feel that they paid more but got the same as someone who paid less.
