Bone Stock to Stage II (ish) Much Difference???

So, lets say I am bone stock now... (I am)

Lets say I add an H/E, New Pump, Headers, 180MM Pulley, and have Jeremy tune it up. Are we talkin':

A) A little difference
B) Yea, thats kinda nice
c) Holy F^%$#! This is insane

Speaking from experience with my stage 2 setup (2.5 depending on who you ask) C all the way! Although I still need to free up the top end that feels slow and is annoying me right now haha, does it ever stop!

What is 2.5? (I know all the Stage this / Stage that is subjective), but I am just wondering what you have under there

Some consider Mikesamg car a stage 2.5 because it has Vadim's mid section along with the shorty headers.

As many members have stated C would definitely best describe your results.

What exactly needs to be done to free up that top end?

A throttle body and airbox to help with the air flow and give it more top end.

Hands down, the stock to stage II is just a magical experience.

Car goes from "Hey, this is a nice snotty 4 door" to lots of expletives and pumping fists and high 5's after a 0-100 run.

Enjoy it, cause after this mod, it gets harder. You have to really start spending for very small gains....like 2500$ for cams that give you like 20hp. I never really "felt" any mod I did like going from stock to stage 2 (butt dyno wise)

Not sure if they even make um anymore, but your next mod after this would be the VRP style airbox.

At least throw in some K&N airfilters in your stock box for sure.

Spot on Jim...!

As for the airbox, Corbonio (spelling?) made the airbox for VRP. I believe James @ ACG could get them at a much cheaper price than what VRP offered. I recently purchased some Python tubes from James at a much cheaper price than what VRP offered. I purchased them knowing no performance gains were to be had but the look is just amazing.

Or a lot! So you're saying the wetness between my legs isn't from the leather trapping in body heat? I knew sweat didn't yellow fabric, great no wonder those fat girls wouldn't put out!

i wouldnt bother with that fancy, minimal HP gaining airbox -- its just a ridiculous price--- just save the money for tires or a Throttle body

Dude you're gonna love your ride at the end of the week!

I've had K2 on my car for a good 2 months and I still burn my tires up after leaving just about every parking lot

Unfortunately I have a hunger for more and more and I dunno how long I can afford mods for this platform. Next up is a throttle body for me and I need to get rid of my pretty airbox to do so

I'll sell you my carbon airbox if you're interested.

Hmmm...let's see, you have 5 posts, drive a Ford, and joined this month . Guys, don't even give this guy a second thought because it's obvious he's only here to smear Jeremy's name.

I am already about to pull the trigger on a throttle body. I wanted to save something for "Next"... I imagine as much as I will love the new power, there really never is enough. ever

So even though I split the H/E cooling with the small res, I will do the trunk res, bigger pump, Throttle Body... and then probably some mufflers. Maybe mufflers before TB. Both the Eissemann and Superspint sound insane. I don't want TOOO loud. Part of me says: Sleeper. Other part says I need this:

After that??

Have you ever noticed. . .
anyone going slower than you is an idiot. . .
and anyone going faster is a maniac?
George Carlin

I love this quote.. and it is so true.

I had a whole coffee shop yell at me. Here is the (short) story:

Pull up at a stop sign to turn left
Outside coffee shop is across the street, the direction I am turning
I get to the stop sign about 3 seconds before the cross traffic guy does
I enter the intersection and begin making my turn
The cross traffic guy must have felt that he was there first, and just starts driving at my door

No problem, I just nailed the gas, and left about 30' of rubber**... too bad it was about 12' from all the coffee shop people

When I looked back, they were literally shaking their fists in the air..

Ahhh.. it is good to be the maniac from time to time!

(**yes, I drive around with traction control off.. there are a few places well before the coffe shop where you can throw it a little w i d e)
