Yeah things are not looking too good for Saturday (or Sunday for that matter) but lets just wait a couple of more days and see what happens. The folks at the track should be able to give us a final go or no go by Thursday. If it is a no go on the 4th, then we'll get rescheduled to Saturday the 11th (the following Saturday). It's interesting how all the days before and after the weekend have perfect weather, and only weekend looks rainy .

For the record I'm going to be doing a track rental out there most likely in late Feb or possibly very early March. Depending on track availability it may be a weekday. As we get closer I will post some info, I plan on footing most of or all of the bill on the rental. I may open an invitation for a handfull of cars, I don't want it to be a huge event (maybe a dozen cars max), I've got some very serious testing to do and will not be able to deal with long (or even short) staging lines. I'm gonna shoot for Famoso but it may end being someplace else. I will keep you all posted, I'll probably start a thread when dates are finalized.

U guys are having some crazy weather in Cali this year, I was out there (LA and OC) in August and it was freezing, daily high temps in the 50's and low 60's, the ocean was fridgid, then I'm back in October and it's like 110 degrees. I thought your rainy season was Dec and Jan???

Let me know if you decide on Famoso, the owner and his son are very good friends of mine, so I can ease many of the "rules" restriction during the rental Honestly, I think Famoso is one of the most decent tracks in California in terms of having a combination of good location, traction, and low elevation. The only other one that is better in each of those categories is Infineon but unfortunately, there is usually a 12 to 14-months waiting list to rent that track and is insanely expensive Also keep in mind that in March, Famoso is pre-booked every Friday, Saturday & Sunday for their March drag tournaments. However, a weekday would likely be fine.
EDIT: we're down to 20% again instead of 50% for Saturday....

Yesterday, only Weather Channel showed possibility of rain, both Accuweather and Weatherunderground showed Partly cloudy. Today, all three show party cloudy (More sun than clouds)
I think we should have a solid forecast tomorrow, but all indications are as I predicted: The storm is not coming south as fast as expeted, and we ARE ON!!!

Okay fellas, I talked to track management today and we've got some good news..... they say that so far their equipment indicates that there won't be any rain at the track until Sunday. They will probably make a final call tomorrow night, but as of right now, things are looking pretty good
Also, here are some of the predictions from the major weather sites:
Will keep you guys updated as much as I can

Just an FYI for those who dont want to bring there own race gas
Sunoco 260 GT Plus (same as VP MS109) $55 Cash
Sunoco 260 GT (same as VP MS103) $50 Cash
People can use our fuel containers to full up if needed.
I think we're ready to go! lol

I need 5 gallons of Sunaco 260 GT Plus. Do I need to preorder? Will you for sure be there with the fuel? If not it will be an expensive wasted day for me. Happy to pay in advance if needed.

Did you get a Haz Mat ticket for hauling too much fuel without a permit? I will never forget a year or two ago I was hauling my BS out Cali, I was not aware of the "safety" chheckpoints on the NV CA border, I pulled in and nearly shat myself when they started asking what was in the trailer. Along with my car I had two large (like 40 gallons each) of VP fuel, pretty sure that's illegal. They asked me to open the side door, once they saw it was a car they said I could close the door, appearently they were cracking down on wave runners and watercrafts coming into cali..I got lucky that day.

All three weather sites show good for Saturday, and 2 even show Sunday with no rain..
So as I prepare, I want to make sure I bring everything. The only question:
Is there AIR (compressor) at the track, or should I pack my air tank?
Thanks!!
