Do you guys really need to bust his ballz,he is looking at a huge repair job here and anyone can mess this up.
reading this makes me not want to install a 168 pulley when I find one
legit you like signed up last month...If you have no info or help stay out of his thread
to the op,it looks like you work at a dealer or have access to a shop so the labor is all on you,good luck and I hope you can use your crank and not have to take the engine apart or worst need a new engine.

the worst is even if you fix the crank you have that fear of driving around with an unballanced crank that is waiting to blow up on you later down the road.

I feel your pain,Iv had the car run like crap and not even want to keep it or worse smash it into a tree with the problems Iv gone threw so I know exactly what you guys are going threw.

I think you can do a repair as shown in the thread - and I would go that way and get the car to a dealer and trade it on another... unless the installer will cover a new motor...
The key-way just defines the position of the pulley on the snout .. important, but once the pulley is on and torqued down its of no real consequence ... so if you can get the pulley on correctly aligned and torqued down you will be good. The other issue you may have is the slimming of the snout from the loose pulley ... that is more problematic....

Sorry to hear the bad news. Post some pics possibly some other members can assess the damage, maybe you got lucky. Depending on your location a competent machine shop should be able to get you going again.

I feel for you, this truly sucks! I have walked a similar path on a spun rod bearing on a LS2 motor with only 12,000 miles, not nearly as expensive to play with as a AMG 55 motor. Wish you the best of luck!
I think the best advice is get it back together under whatever temporary fix you can and trade it ASAP!

I heard one bit of good advice. Get it on and sell the ride. If that isn't the plan, then minimally, the bottom will need to come out to make sure the crank is good. Very few people would risk spinning something unbalanced and so heavy at almost 7000rpms.....
In the end, the new (used) motor is just cheaper.

All the keyway does is locate the pulley. The bolt is what clamps the pulley to the crank. If the keyway is slightly damaged it can be fixed, and whatever tiny bit of imbalance it causes is next to immeasurable since it's so close to the centerline of the crank. What are we talking about, maybe a couple of grams 1" from the center?
