I have a 2005 e55 with 39000 miles, just purchased an extend warranty through Protective. 5 year / 100K total for $4800.

Have any of you used this company? thoughts?

Never used Protective, but [sratches head] you're asking after ponying up $5k?

That's good news. They haven't exactly been around forever, but they weren't formed yesterday, either.

As Benz-O said, we've discussed almost every reputable (and some not-so-reputable) warranty companies to death. Search the forum for some great info.

However, I don't recall seeing any discussions about Protective. You may want to check other forums, too, if you haven't already.

i think there should be one thread that list all of the known aftermarket companies... i mostly hear about chrysler who doesnt offer their services anymore

Just received a quote of $6953 for 4 year 48,000 miles on a 2003 E320 with a $100 deductible. Vehicle has 30,000 miles. Any recent information of this company or opinions about the quote.

I've got an extended warranty through CarMax. Best warranty I've ever used to date.

Toyota Platinum is the best coverage - I've got mine for 03 with 43K for $3K - 36/36K miles. I have it on ML55 also and feel sorry for Toyota already. They've covered around $13K in less the a year.

Got EasyCare, 3/36 for $3K almost 3 years ago.
Time to renew, 95K miles on car. (74K when purchased)

Happy with EasyCare, they even covered the AirMatic system, some firms don't...Ask about air suspension before you sign up.
