I have seen a couple of these airboxes and heard many rumors about them yellowing due to the high heat that the engine makes. This is the only thing thats keeping me away from buying the cf airbox because spending a lot of $$$ for them to yellow doesnt sound to pleasant. Is it possible that carbonio fixed this issue? Anyone have experience with their kit?

I have seen at least three of them that has yellowed pretty badly. They look even nastier in the sun. I have other carbon fiber products that stay in the sun/heat for a long time and don't yellow like that

I would try to get a used RENNtech one instead of the carbonio ones. I just sold a 5-year old CF boxes and tubes from an E55 and the boxes looked almost brand new.

Yea this thing is yellow I just really noticed how bad it is cause I just had my c/f hood put on. And I opened the hood and the color difference Is terrible! My problem is I bought it for (looks) cause I feel that it doesn't add any significant performance to the car well atleadt not $2,000 worth!!!!

i too have the dreaded yellow carbon fiber. doesnt match my renntech airbox anymore

and are you saying it still has its original color?

i have had both for roughly same time. truthfully i think the carbonio was more yellow from the start and i only see it getting worse. the airbox looks perfect (nice grey/CF color) while the carbonio is slightly more green/yellow. im thinking the renntech is superior based on what i have seen but its pricey. then again carbonio isnt cheap

I helped my friend sell his RENNtech V2 carbon fiber airbox from his E55 and it looked almost brand new: no fading, no yellowing, and no peeling off. He's had it for 5+ years and he daily drives his car. I can attest to their quality and finish.

Most not be real carbon fiber or they are using a cheap resin without proper stabilizers.

I would like to get the renntech cf air box but the price is a little steep. But it may be well worth it. Maybe if we get enough people we can get a discount from renntech.
