The decision making is getting closer.
'06 e55. CPO. 27k miles. Pewter. Loaded.
http://www.autofind.com/dealer/detai...F76J46A922555/
or
'07 e63. CPO. 17k miles. Silver. Loaded.
http://www.isringhausen.com/Inventor...VehicleID/3152
I can get the '06 out the door CPO at $41k. The '07 is closer to $53k.
I know there are cheaper cars out there, but I want LOW mileage and CPO.
My heart says e63 for the looks, updates, 7 speed tranny, etc. And I am not a modder, racer or anything. Just stock.
But, not sure the '07 is worth $12k or so more.
All thoughts much appreciated.

07 price is too high! 17k miles and car has very few options and one less year of warranty. Under 51K is fair

My fault, I didnt notice it had Distronic or the rear blinds (I only looked at the pictures Quickly), but I wouldnt buy a E63 without Panoroof, but thats my prefrence. I made the mistake of not buying P030 and thats the one thing I wish I would have gotten as it is very rare on a E63 W211.
P030 Package
Pano Roof
Ipod Intergration
Voice Command
Dynamic Seats

63 looks more current, and unless you plan on mods is the one I'd get...but you should be able to do a little better than 53k on an 07 with 17k....as other said 48-51 is more in line...

2006 E55 AMG
E55 over the E63 anyday. Test drove 08 63 and prefer the performance of my E55 and its stock. Steering wheel on the E63 is crap. More torque = more fun! Pewter is no way to go though.

Well I am a dissenter it seems (bit like old Hoenig - even tho I think he's nuts) so I would say the E55....
That 63 motor had a very short lifecycle (makes me wonder why) ... the E55 is a bullit proof package ... legendary drivetrain.
Colour not gr8 - so thats up to u if like it or not...
E63 brake discs are megga expensive to replace - E55 cheap. But I think you will get more out of the E55 in the long run .. and you always have the option to mod it too. Add that option premium to the package and the E63 looks way too expensive.
Look at it another way, take half the difference in cash betweeen the 2 cars and spend it on mods on the E55 and you will have a beast. If thats your thing, and if u looking at these kind of cars it probably is.....

...other than the fact that he said that modding ISN'T his type of thing.
Go for the 63. That engine's life cycle & the 55's are both numbered b/c of emissions & CAFE standards, not b/c the 6.3 engine is anything but spectacular.
My $0.02, when in doubt, buy the newer car w/the newest technology, suspension, looks, build quality, etc. Especially if it's a keeper.

I went with the 63 for all reasons mentioned in this forum. It's interesting that most E63's that have distronic do not have the ipod connector? Personally, I'd take the ipod connector over distronic anyday. Distronic should only be for the E350, these cars are meant to be driven.
Will you have the ability to fully inspect the vehicle? Just make sure it has not been in an accident. In general, used car dealers are the best in detecting vehciles that have been previously repaired then low ball it on a trade-in or buy. However, they're also the first to try and re-sell it at a high price (hustlers). I don't care what anyone tells you, the seller will never disclose body repairs and it most likely won't show up on carfax.
If for whatever reason it appears to have been re-finished, you have more negotiating leverage or just walk away.
