how many guys running 18"s
I'm running 19's now, but daily drive here in LA. Ride comfort isnt bad, but having to play the pot holed dodging game is getting tiring. I'd like to see some pics if you got em. Im sure some nice meaty rubber on a 18x10.5 would look sick.

E55 then E63, now back to an E55
I'm going back to 18's....
The 20's look nice & all, but sure ARE NOT worth the extra headache - not only from rough ride but more importantly, potholes bending and cracking wheels, and expensive tires that wear out more quickly on the inner edge than stock 18inch tires.
No thanks, just want a smooth ride from a luxury car. I'm done.

i have 18's ASA AR9's wrapped in Yokohama's and i absolutely love them. i switched cars with my friend for an hour (also a c280 4matic, but he was running 19's) and when i got out and back into my car, i gave myself a pat on the back for not getting 19's. his tires also sucked lol not in the sense that they were bald, they just straight up sucked. terrible grip. i love my yokohama's on my 18's. they STICK.

Wow, killer fitment on the rear wheel, mind to share you specs ? (width and offset) Any rubbing ? What about the front ?
I also plan to stay on 18" to maximize performance and comfort, I do not need looks upgrade with my sleeper... That being said, I want to stay "proper", aka no Japanese wheels, but old school BBS. Any one has a pics of 18" BBS LM on a W211 E ?

I would love to be able to fit a 315-30-18 tire on the rear of the E55. I think it can be done with some massaging of the fenders and frame work. It would look so sick from behind.
For any guys interested, we have widened tons of wheels using this wheel company over on svtperformance.com
They do excellent work and stock 18's widened to 18X10.5" with a Hoosier 315-30-18 would look insane outback, GOT MEAT

i run 19`s in the summer and stock 18`s in the winter! the amount i drive it makes no differance, just protecting the 19`s from salt corrosion!

I was on a set of 18inch CCW's and then sold them. Went to 20's thinkin, I was over the speed bug. I moved back to the stock 18's after 3 weeks. Someone buy my 20's so I can go back to some high performance 18inch wheels!

A 300 series tire has been put on an e55, I have seen, just heard... My 295's do rub under extreme conring (auto cross) and large "speed humps" It pretty much just rounded the fenders perfectly and no one could tell but me..

Well like I said I had the stockers ( 9" ) on a 295 tire and it rubbed just a little on the inside and out side once the car was lowered and I would go into a drive way to fast I could hear it rub. So for that size tire the offset cant be much different or it will rub like crazy .

I was running 20" DPEs, bent one, and no more. Going to send them back for a refinish and selling them next summer. In the meantime, I'm looking for some wider 18s. Once I raise the car up a bit, I'll be able to fit wider than 275/35/18s. Maybe even a taller tire.
