Wrapped Stock Air Box Top in CF
I had a stock air box lying around so I decided to wrap the top in CF fabric. Looks a lot better in person

Nice! I am going to go that route when doing my entire engine bay because that is all I can afford. I think I am going to go with the glossy black. Do the real carbon fiber engine pieces provide any advantage besides being lighter? I know the airbox and tubes let in more air, but if they were theoretically the same as stock, but just in CF there would be no difference, correct?

+1 I like your style. Looks Great Shardul.
As long as you used the Primer, you should be good with the heat cycles.
Ive had mine on for several months now and still perfect.

LOL Of course, before, not after.... it called "primer 94" that is specifically for DiNoc high heat applications.
I had to go to a sign distributer to get it. should cost $9 for half pint.
Watch, they charge $20 for 10ML tubes of this on ebay, don't get ripped.
I did 4 coats before applying DINOC.
You need at least 8sq ft of material for sure. and that is if you do not mess up.
My fiance interupted me while laying down my last sheet and it was ruined.
The primer gets really sticky and does not allow you much room to redo without destroying the DiNoc. Had to buy another sheet.
Sure, at least up to the corrugated section of the tube.
Fine, it actually conforms and hardens. I don't see any bubbles arising soon, especially since it has been about 4 months in Florida heat and highway, city, and track driving.
I would say that is just enough to do your airboxes.
You would need a bit more to do the charger cover and also tubes.
Search on ebay, you can easily get this for $6.25 per sq ft including shipping.
Another Option: http://www.decalfx.com/carbon_3_black_sheets.html they have lots of different carbon fiber designs to left.
Some sick as designs and colors and finishes, shiny, matte, etc.
Just not sure about durability or heat, I cannot believe its comparable to DiNOC, but please, someone test it out and let us know cause I would like to possibly use some of these, just not sure on what.
