2006 AMG E55
New to the MB world, Got a 2006 E55, want to add HP but I'm on a budget..

I have a 2006 AMG E55 with 45k miles that I'm madly in love with and I really want to start modding, Its already a fast car but I just also had my first child, so the budget got a little tighter, what would be the best way to gain some HP without breaking the bank? Also what companies make quality parts that are at least reasonably priced? I'm a total noob but It was love at first drive, and I plan on having this AMG for a long time!

imho, put the money into a warranty first if you're on a limited budget. Unless you already have an extended one.

Do a search here and you'll get plenty of answers to a very common question.

Man, "on a budget" and AMG modding just don't go together bro.

However, I would keep some cash on hand/paypal and keep and eye out for used pulleys going up for sale. All the time, someone is getting rid of one for all kinds of reasons but they go fast so you have to be ready.

That combined with a tune will be fun BUT you will have lots of heat so without an extra heat exchanger, you will have some heat soak trouble in summer and in spirited driving.

They are more rare used, but a good set of used headers would give you nice gains without heat issues. Long tubes would require a tune. Heads up on that.

I would say that if you are on a budget the best thing to do is to put a plan together on how much power you want, and what you need to buy to get to that power level, then save up double that amount. You don't want to start modding then have something go wrong and no money to pay for it. I plan on going with Kleemann because of the amount of knowledge Cory has with these cars.

Find a used pulley and a PLM H/E and get a Jeremy tune. total cost should be approx $2500 install included. Any cheaper than that and your asking for problems.

I love a budget!
Ok, so send your stock pulley off to asp and for 300.00 they will mak what ever size you want. So safe bet is a 180mm. For about 150-200 bucks you can get 82mm used Audi TB. you make your own flange from raw stock and have your Housing moded and flange welded on. You can look at company called frozen boost for a trunk tank and pump for around 300.00 Headers will be hard to score used but there out there and one of the best mods for our cars. Good luck and hit me up with a PM if you need more details.
FYI I have about 3200 bucks into my mods including slicks and wheels and my car runs 11.3x If I had to do it over I could do it for less!

2006 E55
Search EBay for used nitrous parts and add a 150 shot.

Fast, reliable, "budget friendly"........pick two.

Welcome to team AMG.

Eurocharged would be my choice.
