So who makes the lightest wheels for E55?
The CLK 16x7 forged wheels are done and back from the powdercoater. They were chemical dipped, bead blasted and powdercoated. I used my bathroom scale to weigh the wheels(stock, black double coated, grey metallic and clear coated) and they all weighed in at 13.5lbs each and look amazing. These wheels will bolt up and clear pretty much any M-B vehicle(excluding all 65 series cars due to huge brakes) and bolt up to a Crossfire as well with no spacers.

Those look great man

not too shabby a wheel that weighs 3-4 lbs less per corner than a set of $10k+ CF Dymags.. (I'm buying a 2nd pair for fronts to really lighten this swine up!)Contact Ed @ HMS for proper Spacers/Bore sizing

Anybody have pics and specs(size and weight) of the CCW front skinnies? I can't seem to find anything on their website.

Mine aren't clearcoated, & I think this is why your finding differences in weight, I used a Prof Digital Scale vs...

It's very rare that I use the skinnies now unless conditions are ideal and a possible record is in sight, other than that I run my HRE's upfront. After Famoso this year the skinnies will be up for sale if you're interested. This will be my last Famoso event and regardless what I run I'll be done. I plan on painting them black to give my car a different look at the event, if you're interested and don't wish to have the rims painted let me know.

PS If the rims weren't cleared from the factory they would oxidize and require a lot of maintenance and I don't know of any high production vehicle with polished(and not clearcoated) aluminum rims.

I am thinking of getting the skinnies if I do I will let you know and get yours not looking to buy until next season as you know..if I do go that route. I am looking into the clk 320s as well...my rear drag pak is brand new NEVER turned a wheel and may be up for sale if I do that dunno yet

I have owned several sets of polished unclearcoated rims myself and know they exist in the aftermarket world. I stated that they do not exist on high volume production vehicles which is what these rims originally came on. The general public doesn't know how much of a pain it is to keep polished uncleared wheels clean and car manufacturers don't want to deal with the headaches and complaints which is why they clearcoat them.
