MIR Track Rental Sat 11/20/10
Since the track season is coming to an end, we are able to finally get a weekend rental. Normally that involves a price hike to $200/car but since we have doen so many rentals with them we have negotiated the price down to $100/car (we need 40 cars and that shouldn't be a problem) but they will charge $10/spectator. Same hours 9am-5pm and we will split lanes again so if you have drag radials or slicks bring them! The last 2 events have been great and I expect this one to be even better since it's on a weekend!

Awesome! I may have to take you up on that. I'm probably gonna break down and just get a new set of M/Ts for my stock 18s if I don't find a suitable setup between now and the rental.

OF COURSE - first weekend track rental and I won't be there
Unfortunately I'll be dodging the cartels and "other things" in Cozumel on that day. . .

^^Cozumel is a great place...you will definitely enjoy it. My honeymoon was in Royal Hideaway located right of Playa del carmen, hotel had an excursion to Cozumel and visited and did some minor snorkeling. Enjoy it, you might not want to come back.

I hate you guys...JK! I'm very envious of you guys for getting the chance to run so many private rentals on a great track. I would the opportunity to run with you guys just once before I consider retiring the car, but we all know that would never happen .
Clayton, get some fricken DR's and see what that beast could really do.
Charlie, get your ***** running good and go hit some 10' already....gosh! It's time to stop messing around with all these mods that don't work...lol.
Ahmad, you already know what you have to do my friend...now go get it already and stop making excuses like broken axles jk . Seriously, your car could get that record if she could just stay healthy for a few runs. Good luck!
Just think, Famoso and MIR running track events on the same day..... I'll be happy with DA at a 1000 or below.

As you know, I've been very successful with launching this car on pretty much any tire, on any track, with any prep. So, I had visions of grandeur, thinking that I could briefly rent the #1 SL600 spot without using DRs. But with Jeremy and Marcin allowing me to put tons of torque to the wheels now, I just don't think I can do it.
Have already looked into the ET Streets for my stock wheels. I don't want to buy another set of wheels, mainly because I don't have the ability to get them to the track, unless my wife comes with the Rover. I don't think driving on 16" CLK wheels with a super tall, sticky tire, for 2.5 hours (each way) would be fun. So, I'm probably just gonna get a set of 265/40/18 Mickey's and see what's what. My stock rear wheel is 9.5", so they might even be a tad narrow for that wheel, but anything has to be better than my 25 series 20" tires at this point.
I say "briefly rent the #1 spot" because there's a few uber high HP SL600s out there right now (TheRicker, Soulchearcher, Outcast) that either haven't made it to the track yet for various reasons, or haven't posted a slip. Those other cars have major mods, whilst I'm a 'tune only' car. Well, I removed the mufflers, and put a set of high-flow filters in, but that's it. Once those guys run, I'll end up top 5 somewhere, I'm guessing.
I can't wait for the day that we get all you Western boys out to MIR. It's talked about every year, and every year it doesn't happen. I guess it's impossible to predict the weather, and that's a big reason why.

Count me in!
I need to do some serious data logging.
+2 on Charlie getting that thing into the 10's already, please dont give up bro
Just think, it will be easier to sell as a ten second car!

I've known Adam for a while, good guy. That was your car? Cool, small world. He has added some nice touches hasn't he? Brembo BBK all around, Fikses, and ESS charger Once he gets d/r's on it it will be 11s for sure! He has a really nice garage. Was over there helping out with a M5 project a little while ago. Basically... DOOOOO EEEEETTTT

Oddly enough, a 90 mile trip takes me 2.5hrs on Friday rental, due to rush hour traffic. Hopefully it's only an hour and a half for me on a Saturday.
I know Adam too. Can't believe that was your E39 M5. That thing is bad ***. He had the same traction issues I had last time out.
