**PICS** Engine Cosmetics and Fogs - CARBON FIBER & TTM CONTENT
Alright so in lieu of opening our new store "sometime" in the next few weeks I really found myself with nothing at all to do at the office today so I went home early and finished up some stuff that never got installed on the car. Items included are the TTM Intake Scoops, Carbonio Engine Cover and 8000K HID Fogs.
I do have to say this though, and it's not positive in any regard. ANYONE CONSIDERING THE CARBONIO ENGINE COVER SHOULD SERIOUSLY FORGET IT! I haven't read anyones negative feedback on this piece but in my install experience I would never recommend paying that much money for very poorly constructed item. First off the hardware they supply you is not even close to being the correct size for the threads installed in the cover. And guess what? Being from Canada this company has found a way to install threads that are in no way shape or form known to man. There I said it, Canada has once again disappointed me greatly. So after tapping it out to fit some metric fasteners in there I finally transferred over all the mounting hardware from the stock cover. Well here's the best part, the tabs they have "glued" on for the clips don't even come close to fitting into the stock airbox... After filing that down to make it work I finally got it to sit where it should but it still doesn't seem stable enough for me to confidently leave it in there. Alas it has just become a show piece that I will use at shows and meets to dress it up. When the car is actually functioning, oh like it does on a daily basis, the cover will just sit in my trunk.
That's my rant, just trying to save people some money. Now here's some pics for everyones viewing pleasure![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

Very nice Tgoss,, sorry to hear about the engine cover,,,,, and sorely it is probably just the beginning.
I just read a bunch of threads on this cover a few weeks ago about it yellowing.
So it is better that you store it in the trunk probably.
In fact, I store mine in the trunk most the time just so I can hear a bit more whine from the charger....![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Seriously though, looking very nice....

I should take a pic in the sun, they are pretty noticeable head on, but they just look like evil azz eye pokin through. ![devil](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/devil.gif)
Thanks! Yep my airbox and tubes are already suffering the yellow effect. Don't really know what to do about it other than maybe paint them someday.
Thank you sir!
You know that's what you figure but in a world of aftermarket it's just another unfortunate instance. No biggie. Only bought it for the looks anyway, might as well just keep it fresh and throw it on when needed.
Wrong time of year for that! You need to bring your beast down here on of these weekends before it's starts dumping.
Thanks!
Thanks! Do you have any issues with yours?
Thank you!

Man that thing looks sharp under the hood. And thanks for the feedback on the cover even though it's negative your comments will save the fellow AMG community some headaches and money. - Thanks

Tgoss...fitment was not an issue with my install so I guess I was lucky. Hey if you are going to any shows consider painting the surge tanks black and the AMG lettering in red (to match the air intakes)...that would be just enough red detail to look sweet without being over the top.

Thanks homie! You need to let me know how the HPF beast was running the other day![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
Thanks!
Nope they are yellowing. But none the less they still look sick ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Thanks! No problem, I don't want people to travel the same road I did unless you plan to just use it how I am pretty much forced to now.
Well I'm glad to hear it dons your beast perfectly! I love the idea on the surge tanks.
I will definitely travel that route if I don't decide to get the replacements that Kleemann offers.
It'll either be swapped for the 80mm piece or modified. But next summer there will definitely be some more air pushed through that motor one way or another. ![naughty](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/naughty.gif)
Thank you! The fogs were more of a PITA than anything else I've personally done to the car. I basically ended up making my own wiring harness because I couldn't get a bulb that fit the housing. I chopped up the stock bulb and retro fitted (i.e. JB welded) the HID bulb inside of that to make it fit. Even then I ended up electrical taping the whole set up because it wasn't water tight. All in all I spent a good 3 hours under the car with the project but they look and perform great so I'm happy! The kit I ordered included resistors to cancel errors and was dirt cheap. PM me if you're interested, I can easily get the website for you.
