Wheel offset experts....need help.

Loco '05 turned me on to a set of 18" Kosei's with 265/40/18 Mickey T's.

They used to be Jody's off his CL65, I do believe, and it sounds like they also fit the E55. The offsets are unknown to me right now, but I know a few of you on here know E55/CL65/SL600 offsets off the top of your head.

So my question is simple. Think they'll fit my SL without spacers?

SL have a higher offset than a E. So if the wheels were on a CL which have the same or maybe lower offset than a E them you may need spacers. Make sure spacers are hub centric since the rear hub is about 6mm

I think you have that backwards. Spacers will lower the offest, not increase it.
As well, I always thought the offest on the SL was the same or lower than the E, while the S class had a high offset.

RE: Offsets

The OEM rear offset on your SL is 40.

OEM rear offset on E55 is 39.

I believe the offset on these wheels is 44, but I'd look at them to be sure.

At 44 you should be o.k. with 265's but I'd try them somewhere besides MIR first to be sure.

I hope they work and get you that record!

Clayton, I had the same exact setup and sold them last year. Just in case you didn't know the offset here are a couple of pictures I took. These rims fit nicely on a E with no spacers.

Great info guys, thanks.

So on my 9.5" rear OEM wheel, the offset is +40, and on the Kosei 9" the offset is +38 it looks like.

So, offset is in mm, correct? That means with a .5" difference in width (or 12.7mm) between my OEM 9.5" and the Kosei 9", the wheel would be set inward 12.7mm, if the offsets were equal. But, according to info above, the Kosei has an offset of +38mm while my OEM rear wheel has an offset of +40mm, so I gain 2mm of that 12.7 back. That tells me that these wheels will be set inward toward the car roughly 10.7mm, from stock.

Sounds like I'll need a 10mm spacer.

Then again, I'm an offset rookie, and could have all that math incorrect.

Awesome! Thanks.

Looks like the wheel will be set inward 4mm. I wonder If it'll still clear the brakes without a spacer.
