Nah, the intake is just a sponge filter that pulls air in from under the hood. There was a guy in Canada that had these same RENNtech coolers on his E55 back then and he had the same intake setup. Don't recall any documented drop in boost but REENtech said they produced 75hp on top end and that guy in Canada said they gave him just under 50hp, and his motor was stroked to 6.1L and had ported heads with larger valves and cams..
