Have to give credit to my wife, as she made the run and got kicked off the track for the team..lol Thanks to Jerry with EC for driving to my office to check a couple of maps out and make sure we were good for test and tune.. Race weight with my wife and added trunk tank is a PHAT 4525 lbs.. One run is not enough to test and tune either.. Track just is to strict about roll cage rule..
BTW, a 2010 camaro just ran off the track , as he did not know where the end was. ended up in a feild and they started kicking us sub 11.5`s off !

Better D/A , little more tweaking and some good times are therre! Weight is an issue, as all floor mats, etc were in the car and did not even air up front tires tonight ..
Severla of the SL, CL or S class can back up the crazy limiting launch control and TQ mgt our ABC cars have.. No way to heat tires, so car launched, spun and then bogged.. MPH is being limited and so is ET by this TQ mgt.. Working on solutions but this is the major limitor on this CL class and the weight..

My brothers 04 will sit there and roast the tires all day so I dont know whats going on with mine.
once driving its fine and I can break them loose,doing a brake stand is almost impossible in my car.

Higginsbeach had it down so fast that he would roast the tires in the box in dyno mode, then quickly take her out of dyno and hit the starting line. Not sure how he did it that fast!??

Tried dyno mode last year and car would "john force" the tires with ease.. Would Launch and then go into limp mode.. Also can turn off the burn out limitor with star but if you turn car off, it goes back ..
Yes, will be testing dyno mode on in water box and off at the line or use STAR.. Just wanted to get a solid baseline and work from there..
I have always run the car with stock rims and front tires.. On the back, I run ET streets radials 265/40/18.. I run with stock 62 lb battery too. Stock rotors, as well. I even have the heavy **** duel resonators still on teh car..
So, remove some weight , better tires and master the launch mode next..
Still hoping a tuner can remove it and make it burn baby burn like an E55!Still running the Texas mile tune and could get more out of it, if we dial in for the 1/4 mile.. Lot of options still..

I know this is going to be a touchy subject but have you considered talking with another tuner to see if they have advancments in the tq management over your current tuner?

Not a touchy subject at all with me.. I keep and eye out for alternatives to the TQ MGT concern and to Jerry has been the first to say, if somone has a flash to fix it,, go for it! I know that Jerry is close to having a fix for this, as I saw all the files he recently had translated.. Just not been much demand for it , as most E`s are fine..
My second gear at 5K really hits the tires hard, so they will spin there, even if the launch is ok.. For the weight of the car, 1.64 should be a decent solid launch.. Getting the tires real hot,, is the whole race! Maybe I will film one of the struggles in the water box.. It is laughable at best..

Why woul you race in comfort? The car starts out in second gear in comfort mode and shifts like marshmellows rubbing together..
My CL55 class will over-ride TC, if the tires start to spin and when that happens, it bogs the car down (power being limited). My CL55 will also over-ride manual mode and shift on its own.. No way to turn ABC off, as that is our suspenssion.
You can turn ABC sport mode off but makes no difference on TQ MGT on my CL55 class. I am only assuming the TQ MGT issue , MAY have something to do with the ABC system.. We ahve acceleratomers and other sensors that make the suspenssion adjust, so a lot of spin or nose lifitn at launch, may pull power.. If I had the answer, I would sure post the info..
When I posted this a year ago, no one believed me but now that more CL, S and I assume SL class cars are racing, others have the same issues..

Sunir, I do not have an SL55 or CLS55, so not sure what TQ mgt. you have.. I know the 03 SL55 Urnext, does not have this limitation but he said it is due to him having a very early 03 model.. I do know a bunch of the S class 55`s also have this issue..

I have I think a winter mode and a sport mode I believe (don't have the car presently) I think the '05s + had a D and C for drive and comfort...as for the ABC, I ussually turned that to ABC sport off. Again I've only been to the drag strip once with this car and that was a year ago so don't really remember what I did, I know that Clayton, Ahmad, and Jay were all giving me tips since it was my first time out to the drags and away from the road course circuits I am usually on. Hope to get back out there again soon...

Here is what happens, pull back tires into water box and brake TQ tires. They start to spin (if lucky a small amount of smoke) and then just bog down to almost a stop.. Let off and try again and wheels will barley spin.. This is in the water!
