Cruised the car lots tonight....nothing I like better than my E63.
So I used to cruise the car lots at night when I could look at cars and not be bothered by car sales people, but have not had much of a chance to do that since having our daughter 16 months ago. Well, tonight I was able to get out and cruise the lots and was curious if I would find something that caught my fancy. Well.....with the exception of a Ferrari 599 that was on the Porsche dealer's used car lot, there was absolutely nothing I saw that caught my eye. Not even the brand new Obsidian Black W212 E63 on the Mercedes dealer's lot. It occurred to me how truely special the W211 E63 really is.
In the looks department, the W211 E63 is simply beautiful. The softer lines seem to have been shaped to cut through the air with a smooth elegance reserved for only the most emotional of sculputures. Subtle touches of muscle and aggression are found in the intense front end treatment, quietly effective rear spoiler, stunning factory wheels, and massive brakes that look like they could stop a 747 on a dime, all suggesting that this is not your standard E-Class.
Interior follows the lead of the exterior with alcantara suede all over, dual paddle shifters perched and ready, Panoramic roof giving an uninhibited view of the sky above as you rocket forward griping a nice thick steering wheel made for driving. Easy to use climate control and audio system keep you cool and entertained while the multi-position air suspension dials in just the right amount of comfort and fun for whatever your devilish side has in mind.
Speaking of devilish....there is the engine. That sweet, sweet, naturally aspirated 6.2 liter monster resting beneath that long hood topped with a shiny silver star. Then with a tweek and prod of the accelerator pedal the sleeping monster is awakened and OH MY GOODNESS!! HOLD ON TO YOUR LIFE!! A loud roar barks to life as the quad chrome exhaust tips scream to the atmosphere that something amazing is happening. While the lucky pilot is forcefully pressed back into heated and cooled leather and suede seats with a smile the size of Texas plastered to their face.
Yes....that is my E63 AMG, and that is why I love it more than any car I can find on the market today.

I couldnt agree more.
I might take a brand new s63, but since i would have to take a 2nd mortgage on the house to do it, its not really an option. There's just something cool about owning the best car that you could otherwise find without spending $150k to do it.
I'm not even a week into ownership, and i'm already nuts about this car. Its the perfect balance between luxury and sport. Sure, you give up a bit of handling prowess over similarly priced porsches and maybe even BMW cars, but the e63 is SOOO nice inside, its like being pampered the entire time. MUCH nicer fit and finish than any of the BMW cars i have owned, including two 7 series cars. The alcantera headliner, the leather seats, the dash & display...all very nicely done, along with a SMOOTH ride, even when hitting it hard.
And the engine...OMG. What a monster. So much fun, even in town, horsing around between gears with the paddle shifters.
The exterior looks are an amazing balance of classic lines, with a sporty edge. I see people staring at the car all the time, which is understandable, since I stare at it every time I park it and walk away, or even in store windows while driving by.
Its a perfect combination of everything you could want in a car, all mixed into one vehicle.
And like you, I havent found the 212 e63 to suit my eye. I love the front, but the rear still looks like a f*cked up Honda Accord.
Hope to have this car a LONG time (whcih for me, is about 3-4 years). LOL.

Thus I present proof of your statement. Edit: MY (not just "A") W211 E63 braking from 125MPH into turn 1 at Thunderhill Raceway. What a sleek beast. Go to the PL to see the write up.

NICE! I have to go with you next time. BTW, Euroteck has a diffuser for the 63?? Have their one on my 55, didn't think there was an option for the 63.
