Just cant win!! Broken Sub-frame bolt anybody????????????????

I knew it was just a matter of time before this happened..Heading to my Softball league's playoff games I go to make a turn and have to hit the gas to avoid getting hit by an oncoming car and i hear a nice pop after slight wheel hop and going over a pothole

Immediately i get "ESP MALFUNCTION" and car pulling to the left..Got home jacked the car up and there it is- My sub-frame hanging

Fortunately i think i have the right guy for the job who can hopefully get me going again..I hear when these things start to give they just keep popping after that..

To top it off we loose both softball games and get finished for the season..

Dude, you should be thanking God you made it home. Usually when those bolts go it's takes some parts with it and she is DOA.

Just stunned that you were able to drive it home without massive damage.

There is a thread here somewhere of the Aussie guy snapping his on the starting line. Had to be towed home if I remember.

I hear ya! I would've expected that to happen off the line at the track not like this..i snapped only one of them but will reinforce both just to make it a little stronger.and hopefully holds..

E55 w/ goods, Z32 Project underway
Need to get up under there to see if I can just spot weld a couple of small spots for reinforcement. Hate to see this happen as I understand the damage could be far worse. Sorry to read about yours.

E550
My buddy who is a Manager at Mercedes Service says this is common on the CLS 55's that have been brought in and most of them were stock. But he said they never had an E55 come in for it. Guess your just making to much power!!!!

also consider yourself lucky that your was still driving...the one I saw was touching the floor and had to be towed in

I guess the extra weight on the cls is taking the told. What's their answer to the problem?

Don't think it has to do with power, is more on wheel hop situations plus this car only made 450 whp

Luis, I'm so sorry to hear about this (especially since you were RIGHT THERE on the verge of 10's). Keep us updated on how she's doing (also this way I know for sure you weren't "Columbian neck tied" in your sleep. Loca 05 e55 has to be making some phone calls right about now. . .

Way to remind us about the proper attitude in situations like this Can't wait until we can all get together again and run

I hope you're being sarcastic. There's no way your car is "only made 450whp".
