Yea, fully agree. Now that I look back, there needs to be a lot more support on these lips since they don't round over the front bumper at all.
I followed his "instructions" (or there lack of) and even over did it. Still luck.
I'd also suggest using bolts and nuts. Then they def can not fall off!

I am interested to see how this goes. Because, quite honestly, I did not really think that much about the higher speed stability until you guys started talking about it. Seeing as how there have been several times where the E63 and I have seen sustained 140 mph + blasts, it now freaks me out to think what would happen if that lip tore off at those speeds. When you guys get yours mounted, please share with the group how it holds up. Thank you.

On a side note, correction: 5 Bolts I have. It may seem like a bad idea to some of you but I feel pretty confident with the install..(have had many aftermarket bumpers/lips on my cars). I will be adding a couple more bolts in there though. You know, just to be sure.

I've done a bunch of 140-155mph pulls with my lip on and haven't had a problem yet. Used the self tappers provided and it hasn't given any problems, aside from a few bugs splattering on my front end. Great product Gary!

parts:
(6) 1/4" x 1.5 bolts
(6) self locking nuts
(1) black spray can
(1) clear sealant or which ever color you prefer
(1) double face tape
(1) 3/4 x 36" aluminum plate
- you have to cut the alum plate into 12 pieces making 4 considerably larger than the rest to be placed in the middle of the lip.
- drill them in the middle of the plates with a 1/4" bitt, and two of the smaller plates need to be first drilled in the center and then they have to be given a significant angle with the bit so it sits ok on the top of the bumper. the possition of the plates is 2 per mounting hole, one under the lip and one on top of the bumper.
- you can spray black the 6 plates that go under the lip and the same for the heads of the bolts, this is only to disguise them from the outside the 6 plates that go on top of the bumper dont need to be painted.
- to 1 plate of each set put a strip of double face tape and this plate will be the one painted and that also the one that goes under the lip spoiler, this is only to give some kind of soft support for the metal not to destroy the lip with vibration.
- the wholes on the lip have to be place in some what of a specific place for the plates to go on easy, after you have drilled them out with the help of someone, present the lip onto the car and with something try to be accurate and mark the bumper where you need to drill. once thats done all you need to put is the double face tape on the top of the lip and then slap the lip on the car, it will take a while so take your time and with patience get it done, also very important dont tighten the bolts to the max because you will damage the lip and make it weak. once you are done with all that is time to put the sealant and let it dry for couple of hours.
