If anyone is interested in an iPOD kit...
$99 I ordered one a week ago got it Tuesday. It's the OEM kit without the install CD but there are several stickys for that install. It ships from Keenan Motors an MB dealership.

For that price I saved it in my watch list on Ebay, then I read Yacht Masters DIY, I quicky removed it from my watch list as I am quit sure I would screw something up! Good luck! Looks like a job!

Does anyone know if other features such as email,etc still work while plugged in?

That's correct. I also used this site as a reference too. Didn't need the CD. Yatch provided an superb guide. I got it done this afternoon. About 4 hrs in total.

My iPod 60Gb works perfectly but my iPhone 4 will play but not charge. Email and phone still works when connected.

This hardware supports changing line level via theiPod menu on the dash and therefore no line leveler is required.

The actual MB one can be had at the dealership for that price as well. But you really pay for it if you have them install it. It called for almost 5hrs of labor if i remember.
