no one has even heard of that and if there is it may belong to Housclass. What you don't know is that on the dyno Enzom and I dyno pretty damn close and I will just leave it at that

Common man, you know more than most that comparing two dynos from the same shop is bad enough - let alone comparing ones from two different states across the country of two different cars, with different conditions, different operators, etc...

In fact, I think on the dyno, Alan's car and your car dyno "pretty damn close" as well... I believe he dynoed at 447 rwhp (or maybe even less)

EDIT: I did a quick search and found one of Enzom's 11.8 runs on stock 265 tires. It was actually not at ATCO, this time it was E-town:

11.850 @ 118.17 Bone Stock!!

If you look at post # 23, he was still running on 265s, here is the quoted post....

Dude, I was not taking anything away from your car at all. I was just saying you should mention Enzom's name among the greatest because he really pushed and inspired many of us to drag our cars. If you look at my original post, all I said was that you forgot to mention Enzom on your list. I didn't say anything about your car or your runs

I don't think Famoso is the best track out there.... I do think its prep is much better than Sacramento though. I honestly would love to run my car at any track: Sacramento, Famoso, Fontana, LACR (when it was open), Irwindale, Palmdale, Infinion, and everywhere else I could. The only reason I mentioned Famoso was that we are having a rental coming up soon and I wanted you to join us and actually try a little bit better prep than Sacramento especially since you were talking about track prep

I'm from the Boston area. If the Patriots were getting spanked I'd be mad lol. I can however see the stadium, if I sit on the roof of my house.

For me I guess I lost some racing excitement when no one in a C55 would come out and play. AMGSC (Robert) tried, but his car was Vadimonized so that never happened. I'm kind of upset no one in the C55 area would try and chase down an 11.55.

When I first broke the C55 record It was exciting, because I did it by mistake. After than all my other runs were just me chasing a number faster than my last.

I guess my record for the C55 still stand, but I hope some one beats it. It makes the MBZ AMG community that much better. What I mean by that is...When I was pushing for C55 record, I developed the headers. In turn that lead to the development of headers just about for all AMG cars.

maybe someone or even myself again will come along the same way and bring a part to the table, that was developed for the purpose of racing. For example: My buddies at Speedriven, They pushed the envelope on the SL600 because 1 guy wanted too. Now they have the SL600 turbo kits coming soon I hear?? Or I/C for V12TT cars.

To me I think its kind of important to have some record holding folks out there. If someone has something that giving them an edge then in turn they share it with the community. If makes all these cars that much more enjoyable.

over the years, we seen real positive things come from all of us racing. Recently Bassn_07's team cracked the code on the Killer chiller. We were shown how to do meth on a 55k. Blackbenzz showed us how to send an axle to Hell in a hand basket. This is only because we race.

We know what works and what doesn't because we race. I hope all records fall because it only means we are getting faster. When we are faster it mean new performance parts for all.

I agree whole heartedly on working together. This is a small community compared to others, as such we really need to poole our resources to make any advancements.

As for all the records, I really don't care what anyone wants to write in their sig.

I am not dead

Hey, guys. Funny reading about myself like I am no longer on this earth. I still come back to check once in a while.

This thread has caused me to go back and look at timeslips. A huge stack of timeslips. The memories of a life with spare time.

For point of reference -

When I wore out my rear Continental tires, I replaced them with Michelin PS2's. I fell in love with them at the AMG Challenge. So much crisper. I put stock sized 265's on the rear.

My first 11 second pass was on those tires at an Atco private rental on November 17, 2006. Ran an 11.952 @ 117.21 on a 1.661 (yup, 1.6) 60' time. Later that day, I ran a best of 11.901 @ 117.23 on a 1.727 60'. A note on that slip shows a DA of + 778 as measured at the track. I remember that the temps were warm - in the 70's.

On March 31, 2007, I ran a then-record of 11.850 @ 118.17 at Englishtown on a 1.760 60'. I do not have the DA, but it was pretty cold that day, so I am guessing the DA was negative. It was not a rental, so I made two runs (an 11.892) and left.

I then replaced my worn 265 PS2's with 275 PS2's. Went to another Atco rental on November 12, 2007, and ran my 11.775 @ 118.69 on a 1.710 60'. I ran a bunch of back to back runs in the 11.801 - 810 range at 118.4 -.6, but no other 11.7 runs. DA ranged from -300 to -200, but high humidity.

I ordered drag radials and organized another rental at Atco. But *** Tirerack forgot to send me the bolts and centering rings. Wheels were bouncing at the top end, and I never got to really use them.

Throughout this entire time, the car was exactly as it was from the factory except for the tires. I was on regular pump gas but I would buy racing gas at the track when I needed more fuel at the rentals. The day I ran the 11.775, the Atco fuel station was closed, so I used 92 octane from a mile down the road. Never took anything out of the car to save weight.

The only "mod" I made for performance, besides taking my right shoe off to get a better feel for the gas pedal , was to lower the rear tire pressure for my launch. The very last time I took it to the track (just weeks before I sold her in August 09), 05Venom showed me how to open the little rain guard flaps in front of the air inlet tubes behind the front grille. I tried it, for amusement.

I encourage all of you guys to keep hitting the track. We all learn from our experience. I also encourage everyone to disclose whatever mods you have. Unless you are racing for money and trying to hustle, I never understood the point of lying. It is for fun. So enjoy.

AGREE! A fast guy will push the next one to try to beat it. We are competitive by nature. If I went to the track and ran the record, how boring would that be??? There has to be a goal, and that goal will always be: Beat the fastest guy. That is what makes it fun Alan knows what my goal is, and I even put a date on it!
