I've been getting a few PMs lately asking for another private track rental.... look what I've done? I've turned you guys into a bunch of addicts
LOL. Anyways, I was thinking about February 5th, 2011 for our next private rental at Famoso. What do you guys think?
This time I'm thinking about doing some friendly little competitions in the following categories:
- Best 60' time on street tires
- Best 60' time on drag radials
- Best reaction time
- Best ET of the day
- Best Trap speed of the day
- Worst reaction time (got to be unintentional)
- Whatever else you guys may suggest
One condition: we gotta vote Jeremy out of the best 60' competition
The guy was unstoppable on Saturday; he was cutting 1.80 to 1.82 60' times on street tires in a 63 all day long like it was nothing ![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Okay, so who's interested?

I think Rick (rarfinancial) holds the record for best reaction time in our private rentals over the last 3 years with a 0.001 reaction time. I was able to hit 0.002 one time before. Juicee has hit 0.002 a few times as well. It's a lot of fun going for the reaction time

I'm only going to to go if you promise we'll have -5000 DA....LOL. I better not say that too loud.
Why don't we bring it to Sacramento Mo? We'll probably get a better chance of getting some cool weather, plus the track sits at sea level. I could talk with track management and see if they could do a 8 hour TNT that day. That way it would only cost us a $100.

That's a good point about super bowl.... I didn't even think about it. How about the following weekend:
Saturday, February 12th
Also, what do you guys think about a night rental, so we can get cooler weather and better DA?![naughty](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/naughty.gif)
The DA was actually not too bad in the morning. It was only 100 to 200 ft in the morning and didn't start getting high (500+ ft) until after 11:00 am or so. It then started climbing to 1400 ft or so by 3 pm but then dropped again just as rapidly to 600 ft by 5 pm. I think if we do a night rental, we may stay under 200 ft and maybe even go in the negatives for a little bit

Or you could organize a Sac event and we could take it up North. From what I was told, both by Hotrod and Budoboy, is that Sacramento fixed the mph beams. I haven't had a chance to witness it for myself yet but I will the next chance I get. I'm sure it wouldn't be a huge event like your last one but the weather will definitely be good!

I'm going to try to make either Sac or Famoso, whatever you decide.
I'd prefer Sac because it is only an hour and 20 away vs. 4 hours but I'm being selfish.
I think you'd want to run during the day for traction reasons. I ran at Atco at night in -1900 DA but there was ice on my car and everyone was skating down the track. It is better to have a chance of a little sunshine to help warm up the already cold track.
Another thing to consider is Sac is at 100' less elevation than Famoso and gets better weather this time of year. An all day deal would be cool.

Once my car gets fixed let's hit the track up again Jeff. I would love to see your car run again....

I still think we should go for a day rental and hope to get lucky. Humidity is the highest in the morning and evening with the lowest during the afternoon. Even though the DA may rise in the afternoon I believe we'll run faster, 60' better, and have much more fun. Just my $.02 on a night session.

Guys, you are forgetting an important point here.... with Sacramento, we would NOT need a private rental. We can just decide on a date and go. I've never seen that place have more than 40 cars, so we can definitely take advantage of it whenever we want. The only draw back is track prep/traction for any car running street tires or even low-end drag radials. And the advantage with Famoso is better track prep but it often comes with a price of 500 feet extra in DA. However, and as you guys have seen last event, the DA at Famoso was between 100 to 300 feet in the first couple of hours of racing. And last November, it dropped below zero after 6 pm.
Alan, are you guys still doing Sacramento track day on the 7th?
