Just bought 05 e55
Hey guys, this is my first post on this site, just bought an 05 e55. Absolutely amazing car. Drove it off the lot straight to get a stage II tune from Jerry @ Eurocharged as he was in Dallas this weekend.
I couldn't be happier with my purchase, finally I have a great, reliable (and fast) daily!

Welcome, and let us know how the upgrade went. I suspect the beast will pace your Viper now.. and if not now, probabaly soon. You were born with mod fever. I can spot it a mile away (or 1300 miles for that matter)

The upgrade is incredible, shift times are down a lot and really feels a lot different than when i took it out on the test drive!
Haha, the viper has a fully built/forged 522 in it and is also supercharged, makes around 900rw on those mods. However it is in the shop now getting twin billet 78s put on it :-)
Definitely born with the mod fever, I can't leave anything alone for long! Already been talking to Jerry about intercooler pump, heat exchanger and a custom pulley, nothing too crazy but a nice amount of extra power. Going to do an e63 front end conversion also hopefully if I can find out if the parktronic front sensors will fit in, have been using the search function but haven't found a definite answer.
Seems like a great community over here!

From what I have read, they will need to be glued in I believe the holes are a little smaller on the E63, so it is just a matter of opening it up a little and them permanently attaching. There was a E63 Facelift DIY here recently- Search Facelift W211.. It is a doable mod for sure.

Just ordered a few things from Jerry@Eurocharged
Bought the heat exchanger, johnson pump, 175mm pulley kit and long tube headers.
Cannot wait to see the results! This is literally the best 4d I have ever driven, so happy with my purchase!

I really didn't want any headaches at all with this car, so kept it easy with the 175mm, it's my daily driver so can't afford to have it down for any reason. I may upgrade to the 180 eventually but for now I should be happy!

You might want to spend some money on some preventative maintaince before all the modding so we dont have another "Hey look, my piece of crap E55 blew up because I modded the hell out of it and never even checked the oil, coolant or belts". Just saying.

Haha!! That sucks you get so many people who act like that. Trust me if anything goes wrong drivetrain wise then I accept full responsibilty, however I am one for maintaining a vehicle properly. I always check fluids and belts, and properly maintain my vehicles.

Congrats bro.... the E55 is one heck of a car ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Regarding the parktronic issue with the front-end conversion, I remember reading that the parktronic sensors may have to be swapped out for new ones. The best person to contact about this is Steve at MBenzNL. His username on here is just MBenzNL (I think). He is a master at this and should be able to give you a definite answer.

Like split tank, ice box in the trunk, meth injection ect.
I think the 175mm is the a nice sweet spot for power and efficiency.
What I mean is my car is consistent like doing 4 11.5 runs in a row at the track, with a larger setup once the first 2 passes are done you need to wait and cool the car down a bit as your trap speed begin to drop.

You will see once you drive it in the summer, with the larger pulleys the s/c makes way more heat and you end up actually slower if you dont have cooling mods.

I can do that, with less mods and a 180..

I would say that a 175 produces a little less heat than a 180 but not a huge amount where the horse power to heat difference would be worth it. OR the consistency. I am sure your car makes as much horsepower as the next, but we all know how the "power" or "dyno" numbers range all over the place. 180mm has pretty much been proven to be the best pulley for 1/4 times, and trap speeds.I don't THINK anyone has ran in the 10's with a 175 yet. I was just curious why someone that is already a mod a-holic wouldn't go for the for the 180.. Not there is anything wrong with a 168, 172, 175, or 180.
