"Manually" adjust a seat (no power)?
OK.
So on impulse...I bought an E55 seat off of ebay with the intent of turning it into an office chair. The seat arrived...fantastic condition...but of course, it's adjusted to a position that isn't necessarily ideal for set use.
Anyone have any idea if there's a way to manually crank it back? I haven't dug into it yet (its in my garage and it's like ...well...freezing here in Atlanta) so I thought I would ask on here first if anyone has ever had to manually adjust one.
I've searched on here and didn't come up with anything.
I'm thinking I'm going to end up having to run power to it.

Ahhh...but the pulse/lumbar features require the air pump for the bladders... This stand alone seat doesn't have it.
As a stand alone seat - it's better than any office chair I've had - it's just cranked forward a little too much right now.
Another problem I've discovered - even if I do just get power to it...seat control panel is on the door...DOH!!!!!

Wiring schematics would make it really simple. Therefore without them, I'd install it in the car, make the adjustments, then take it back out. It may seem time consuming but in actuality saves the hassle of figuring out the control wiring and external power source, which in itself may be even more time consuming. I say a half hour to an hour tops.

He he...Danny...you are soooooooooo right.
This was actually the one "easy project" I had going on over the holidays so I really wanted to do as little as possible (seat delivered in proper position, bolt on existing chair piston and base...). If I listed all the other crap that is going on in the house this month and next (closets getting re-done, master bath getting re-done...and you guys all know that even though I'm paying for it - when it comes to clothes and the excess there...we never win) you probably forgive me.
But now I'm rethinking it too. For less than the price of a Herman Miller I could actually do this right. :-)
