tire/wheel help
I've already tried to search this but didnt find much on it. What size rim/backspacing do i need to fit a 295/40/18 on the rear or is it not possible with the 295/40?

Not sure a 295/40/18 would fit? That tire is much taller than stock... I think you might even have issues with a 295/35/18..

I think a 35 series will be the best fit for 18s.
I was running a set of BFG DRs in 275/35/18, slammed, with no problems. If you're not lowered, a 285/40/18 MIGHT fit. A 295/40/18 would probably rub, even if you massaged the fenders out.

The best advice that, I could give you in this case would be to call tirerack. A 295 is a very wide tire, and you would have rubbing issues, as I have a 275/30-19 on a 10" wheel that is also lowered. I know that my rear wheel is a 35 offset and my fronts are a 30 offset. I know that a 285 wouldn't fit my setup. I know that AMG rolls their rear fenders, but despite that rubbing will still occur. Now offset can be your salvation, that is why you should give tirerack a call, they should be able to address your issue. You probably could get away with maybe a 32 offset in the rear to tuck those big meats under there. But again they can tell you better then me. You might be able to run a -5 degrees camber, but that tends to wear out the inside shoulder of the rear tires.
