How do I mount flat AMG emblem to an E63?

For Christmas I received a bunch of cool AMG stuff for my E63, and one of the items was a flat AMG emblem to replace the OEM star on the hood. It did not come with any instructions on how to mount it, just a chrome mounting circle with various holes and a few screws. No idea what to do with regards to mounting it, but I have seen other people on here with this emblem, so I am hoping someone can help me with how to take off the original, and mount this new one. Thanks!

If your hood is the same as an E55, just pop it open and look underneath the emblem. Get a plier and twist it so it lines up with the slots and it should pop off. Then you just get the flat disc, put it on the hood and insert the screw and housing from underneath. Tighten, then apply the logo on top of the disc. Just make sure the screw is tightened down and is sitting in the recessed hole in the disc.

This is the emblem. Anyone else have this particular one?

Yes, the wife got me a set of AMG valve stem caps and a cool AMG keychain too.

And put a towel or blanket over your engine first - if you're fat fingered like me you will drop one of the nuts and will have a heck of a time fishing it out of your engine compartment.

Since the E63 grille already has a flat emblem, does this mean you're going to have 2 emblems about 3-4" apart when you replace the hood star?

Love to see the pics when you're done.

I have a similar flat emblem (Mario Badge) on my E63 and it does work well even with the factory MB badge on the grill since the two are different and not a duplicate. (Some pics where you can somewhat see both badges in a row. https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...d-spoiler.html)

Mitch once you take a peek under your hood you will see that replacing the badge should take you about 5 min.

I put one of the oem, AMG flat badge emblems and I have to tell you the one you got is My favorite one. I think it's getting changed again.

It's easy to change, I'm sure once you open the hood and take a look you'll see how easy it's to change.

Good luck

Okay, so I went out in the garage to try to quickly mount this before heading out of town again, and it appears I must have the wrong emblem, unless I am just doing this totally wrong.

Once I removed the OEM Mercedes star from the hood, I placed the chrome mounting circle for the flat badge by the open hole where the OEM emblem was, and it was not even close to the same size circle. Even the sticker/emblem for the new flat badge was larger that the opening left by the OEM star. So, is this the wrong emblem, or am I just going about this all wrong? There were no instructions, so I am kind of flying blind here.

I think I figured this out. After going on Ebay and seeing a similar emblem and mounting bracket, it appears that my wife ordered the TRUNK emblem by mistake, and not the hood emblem.
