Thought I would update everyone on the decision I made, I was going to wait for the 2012 Shelby............But I stopped by the Cadillac dealer and saw a 2011 CTS-V Coupe in the show room The car looked amazing in person vs on the internet or in pictures...So I traded in the E63 on the spot and just brought her home black on black..

Hopefully I can find a Cadillac forum as helpful as this one has been, I will still be lurking because I can still say proudly that I own an AMG and sport my new hat.

Just in case any body is looking I have an almost brand new set of front OEM 2 piece E63 rotors I'm going to place in the classifieds and maybe a sprint booster if it doesn't fit on the ML63. Let me know if your interested....

Regards

Just curious, what did you get on trade-in? I've got a new car on order and might trade-in my E63. The new car is not a MB either and so I'm curious what non-MB dealers are paying. (And what was the mileage on your 2007?)
Thanks!

I think the Vs are badass and the Cady forum is awsome. I had an 2006 and they were always very helpful.

Congrats on the CTS-V Coupe. They look amazing on the outside, but I was in one last week and could not get over the relatively 'low rent' interior compared to the E63. Too much of the Cadillacs interiors still look super cheap compared to their competition from Mercedes Benz and BMW. That alone would keep me out of them.

How much they've improved in every aspect is a reflection of how crappy they were to start with and has nothing to do with their quality compared to the competition. There's a feel, fit and finish to Fords that just rubs me the wrong way...including on '10 and '11 Fords, that I've test driven

As a side note, even with my complaints I still like your Raptor. That's a cool truck, just not one I personally would pay that type of $$$ for (same for the Cobra).

I can appreciate the fact that you're just not a fan of the finish for your own reasons; however, I still have to stand by my opinion that Ford is currently kicking *** in the domestic-made finish department.

As far as my own horse in the race, I've been blessed enough in my life to be able to sit down and - to use the Raptor as an example - pick exactly what I want in a pickup. I looked at the Power Wagon. I looked at buying a lifted F350 with a diesel big enough to tow a cruise ship. Etc. And IMHO, the Raptor is the best for my situation. I don't need to tow a cruise ship at this point in my life.

So bottom line, of course I'm going to defend / support the brand that's responsible for 2/3 of my vehicles. But of course the leather MB uses will be nicer. Duh. Now if we were to look at the pleather from GM or Chevy...

Right on. I'm not a pleather fan either. The Z06's performance would help me forget that though.

I haven't really got on it yet, it has less then a 100 miles on it. The supercharger whine sounds great I think my first mod will be an CAI to make it louder. The interior is nice I like it. The Nav/Stereo/Onstar is really cool!!! I can start my car, check tire pressure and oil status from my Iphone and the voice commands are cool as well. Everyone has something to say about interiors but GM has come a long way and all that really matters is I LIKE IT............

Ok, gotta ask - does your wife really appreciate the AMG, or could a 550 with AMG emblems be substituted without her noticing?

Not directed at me, but my wife would be all over me in a heartbeat. She absolutely loves the AMG, but let's face it, this is a woman who loves our 996TT too.

I don't think most Wives would notice the difference of an E350 Bluetec and an E AMG, lol. Unless you mashed the go pedal, of course.

My wife likes the aggressive look of the ML 63, she surprised me one day when she ran against a Jeep SRT-8 (I was in the passenger seat ). We've been together for a long time so she has come learn all the performance and styling details of AMG's/M series etc...

Good times. Next question. Would you like to adopt a younger-ish male from the Denver area?
