new pump installed
hey guys happy newyear i installed my ic pump today.
i used a cobra pump which is allmost the same but the housing is
not so i pull off the housing from the pump and i put it on the new one.
then i spliced the wires becuase the plug is not the same and i ran a wire
to it so i can bleed the system q when i bleed the system i did it with the car off and i waited to see the coolant to come out and then i capped it
but when i turn my car off i do not hear my pump come on for 10 secs

Don't worry unduely. Had those doubts too. Test the car under full power. If it sustains full thrust after backing off the throttle and going back back on the gas, then all should be well.

yes the systems are inter connected. so to bleed the system get the car up to operating temp so the IC pump is activated connect a hose from the bleed nipple by the s/c to the coolant reservior and let the car idle to get ride off all the air in the system.

sorry is the coolant reservoir where you add water to the radiator? (and the water lost when changing the IC pump is added where you add water to the radiator??)
and so u have a pic of the bleed nipple or a link to a pic?

i have cobra pump too...
bleeding is a plus.but not neccessary .because mercedes cooling system auto bleed itself...
top off the coolant in the reservior and drive it couple hard pulls so the ic pump run ..come back and top the fluid off again..

There is a bleed nipple incorporated so I guess Mercedes must have intended bleeding as part of the process.
Pls see this link for more details https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...-pump-e55.html
The Mercedes part no of the new upgraded Intercooler coolant pump is 000 500 03 86.

Sound like you IAT is high..computer open bypass valve (let off the boosst)
Seem like the car just take a dump when you hard on throttle..righht?
either the new pump is bad..did you test it before installing it?
double check your install?
or you have air in the system..

hey i check fuse 4 it was 7.5amp and fine ? i got the 03 e55 amg maybe not the same as the S!
i also pulled out relay A in the same fuse box in the side panel of the trunk! how do u know if its working?
put it back in actually got 3-4 full power pulls was loving it then power lost and then sc shut down.
but it was the first time i get full power since the problem occurred???
also in the main fuse box under the hood i pressed all the fuses and relays down, couple seemed a bit loose!
any suggestions?
