Does anyone know what bulbs the ambient light ring and the pano lights use. I want to swap them out for either red ones or white ones. Thanks guys.

accualy i took the covers off to check them out they are el glow paper

I have done it before and they are LED bulbs so they are bright and sharp in color. I did it in my e320 and it looks very cool with all blue.

I'm curious too. There are many forums about the interior lights but none about the ambient orange ring. I have changed all the interior lights to blue but the ambient lights are still orange. I would love for them to match.

Are the bulbs actually amber or white originally and at max brightness, should the front ones look dimmer than the rears?

They can be with different el glow paper look it up

The paper changes color if you give it enough time. After like five minutes you can see the different color bulb spread across the paper. It is crazy!

What paper are you guys talking about? Didn't think its possible to change the color of the amber light rings

Electro luminescent I believe, but from what I can tell or from what I remember it was connected where you could not change it out. For example, I did not see a connector that could be removed.

either way if it cant be removed it can be disabled and new layer can go above

for the info although I still have a hard time visualizing it. I'm really slow this week . Does anyone have a link to pictures? I pulled my rear dome out and tried to open it but wasn't sure I was doing it right so I stopped. Although I also realized that the amber LEDs did not look like the replaceable types (no obvious connector).

I know on my car I have two separate rear "domes," but they are not round but long, and I believe it is different because I have the panoramic roof. Anyways, I am thinking you can replace it but you would need to find a new way to power the EL paper, and I just think it would be too much hassle and easy for something to go wrong where you would not be able to go back and fix it. So I think it is just best to replaced the bulbs with high powered smd-led's and call it a day!

Here are some pictures of most of the interior done. I still am waiting on more bulbs for the visors, glove box, outside mirrors, and trunk. A lot of damn bulbs!!!!!!!!
