Planning for spring tires. Would you go wider Toyo TR1s or Thinner R1R's
I am going with Toyo again, but am sick of arguing with people about how bald my 888s were.
I can go with a 265/35/18 in the Proxes R1R. Supposedly nice and sticky with enough grooves to shut people up about running bald tires.
Orrrrrr, go with a TR1 and get it a touch wider at 275/35/18. A proven great street tire but wonder if it's as sticky at the R1Rs ?
Car is not a daily driver and just used for fun and kills. Rain not that big an issue but do want to make it through it alive or I would just run street slicks.
What cha think?
Thanks in advance
I'd go with the 275 Toyo T1Rs; I really liked those tires.
Must have been just a bad week, but it really got on my nerves.
I'm getting new wheels and I'm unsure of which tires I want to run as well. I've honestly been thinking of just biting the bullet and getting PS2's again.
I just really liked my 888s on the street. Amazing tire that actually lasted me quite a long time so I was gonna stick with the Toyo name again. Have not heard a bad thing anywhere about those TR1s so I am kinda leaning that way. I was curious about the new Michelin PS3's....wonder how they grip.

I was going to say from what I recall the same company makes both Toyo and Nitto tires and I had great luck with both the Invo's and the NT-05's last year. Loved both of them, the NT-05's just scared me too much in the wet. I would definitely recommend either or.
But I know a lot of guys here that have T1R's and they like them alot. I almost put them on last summer but got a great deal on the Invo's.
What wheels are you running these days?

Wet traction with the T1Rs is quite good so long as it is warm. I see traction drop considerably below 60 degrees both wet and dry.

Love those 65 rims, love to snag a set of those someday.
