2 flats Cali sucks

Ok I have been in Cali for about 3 weeks and I have gone through 2 tires both on the drivers side both with gashes on the inner side walls. Ugh. I wonder what it is. I am thinking it may be the stupid reflector squares that inticate the lanes. So I have to order a new front tire. But to make my self feel better I also ordered some new shoes to. What is the tallest side wall I can run on 20's? I currently have 30's on the front and 25's on the rear.

Sucks, you must be in LA. The roads look like a war zone over there.

Na La Quinta. I think the reflectors are over sized for all the blue hairs rolling around Palm Springs area.

Dont understand why there are no harsh winter conditions here. So no salt to create cracks and what not. 3 of my rims have bends so I cant wait for my Rennens to be done.

One of the members in Cali in the W203 section was always having simmlar problems. The roads must be terrible over there.

Wherebi live the actual roads are pretty smooth. Palm Springs is a bit rough though. I think it is just the reflectors on the road that is causing havoc.

I'm in NC and will never run 20s on my E55, again. 19s are PERFECT.

you'd be surprised how much more comfortable the 30 series is opposed to the 25 series.

Wonder if I can run 275/30/20 on the rear and move up to 35 on fronts.

As long as you don't slam it, I don't see why you couldn't run 30s in the rear. Not sure about 35s up from.

I went from 285/25/20 and 245/30/20(slammed) to 275/30/19 and 245/35/19.(slammed)

MUCH more compliant.

I may try to run 30's on the rear when the current tires go bad which may be awhile seeing as one is brand new and the other still has 85% left.

Shouldn't take too long with this car.

On my W212 with 20's running 285x30's on the back and 245x35's on the front, in NorCal no issues at all and they ride great. Lowered a couple times until it worked for me.

fwiw, it's not the reflectors doing any damage. They've been in CA forever and were invented here. They later added the reflective type, too.

EDIT: I've been running stock 18" wheels and tires (PS2s) and stock height. Never had any issues (smoother ride, too.)
