Those with E63 front conversion + parktronic
How much more complicated did the parktronic make the install? Is it just drilling holes and filling them with the sensors or what?
I'm debating whether to go through with the e63 conversion and risk paint match and fitment or stay with the 55 bumper and restore it to mint plus lip plus maybe add the two slashes on the side but not sure if that'll look right..at all.
None of my cars had factory front bumpers and I really like the 63 front but the parktronic is another thing throwing me off of the install. Thoughts?

Dima,
Have you looked at the prior designs front bumpers? I know that some members here have done it but it was a real pain in the ***.

Not that much harder, just a few different parts you need. Crap, I saw it too last night when I was searching for a few parts myself... Search "E63 Conversion" and go through the threads... Ill see if I can find the thread too.

yes, you can drill the holes, but you will need to remove from your old bumper the parktronic sensor holders, this is a plastic piece that hold each sensor in the back of your bumper, to remove from your old bumper you can do it with a heat gun, then glue it to the new bumper, you will need to replace side markers, fogligths, grills, etc....

Thanks for the info wally, yeah I know what it takes well by now pretty much, just the parktronic issue.. Im gonna talk to my body shop guy and see what he thinks. I dont understand how parts.com works. Ive entered the front bumper cover part number (211-885-40-25) and it shows one but if you go through the search steps it shows 10+ at different prices, without any part #'s.
The prior design bumper has a little too much going on IMO, but thx anyway Tal.
Tough call, it will certainly be pricy either way, and matching up the Alabaster white will be a PITA, I remember matching up the pearl white from my Audi for the Kerscher front, it never did end up matching. Maybe I'll just keep the 55 one and throw a lip on it. She looks good already.

Alright, so I just solved my own problem. Just ordered a CF front lip and new foglights. Already have a 6k HID kit in mine I will swap.
Now hunting clear sidemarkers to replace my white vinyl covered amber ones.
Whew.
Still want the e63 front thou haha .

You should get Euro bumper strips and eliminate the side markers all together

Good to hear bro! I have a pair of those in my trunk and I LOVE them. One of the best woofers on the market IMO. What shoes does your girl sport these days? I'm a total wheel *****.

As for the winter setup, shes currently sitting on SL500 18's with winter tires of course.
As spring approaches, Ive got 20s with a black face and white lip (hopefully it'll play off nice, otherwise I'll machine it). Here's the current stance minus the blacked out grille:

yep, just need to change the parking sensor brackets on the new bumper with ones from the 171, then your old sensors clip in, job done.

Thanks man, good to hear..I've only heard good things about the W6's so I gave in. Just one 12" though, need the trunk space and I think it'll be plenty enough. Retired my 2 12's infinity to the garage a couple years back.
