MPH after 60ft in ¼ mile
If you don’t like stupid off topic stuff then do not read below.
The other night, my big mouth may have gotten me in trouble after a few beers. The short of it is I told a friend of mine that my retired racing greyhounds could pull a quicker 60 than his stocker Corvette (C6). He thinks I am full of dog sh** and might be right, but I’m not so sure. So assuming the Vette can pull a 1.8 second 60 foot time which I think is generous, how fast would he be going at the end of the distance?
I think a Greyhound could cover 60 feet in 1.75 seconds. Here are some generally accepted facts.
A racing grey can run 45 mph and can hit top speed in three strides.
45 mph = 66 ft per second
From this point it is a SWAG. I’m guessing a Greyhound can complete a stride in .25 seconds. So .75 seconds = top speed and 1 second to cover 66 ft. This means a 60 ft time of 1.75 or slightly less.

Didn't I see benzo say he was up for anything? How about racing a Greyhound backwards.

Yeah, I have to figure out how to do this and be safe for the hound.
